Calling Google SketchUp Whizzes - Arcade Cab plans export

Recommended Posts

It would depend on what the plans look like and what you want to do with the exported files. Are the plans a 3D model of the cab or just a flat 2D layout of the panels? You can export to 2D Graphic in the File->Export menu. If you export it to Autocad DXF or a variety of vector formats. It's important to get your scaling, view and projection correct in order to create something useful. So some more info would probably be needed in order to help.

Assuming you just want the outlines for cutting you should be able to select Camera->Standard views->Top. Then select Camera->Parallel Projection. Zoom to the area you want to export. This would be zoom to extents if you want the whole plan. From there you can Select File->Export->2D Graphic. Choose the format you want I.e. PDF or DXF. Then select options and tick the box for Full Scale 1:1. You probably wont need to play around with the line settings. You should be able to click OK then Export.
