FLYING HIGH ( Airplane )

UPPER PLAYFIELD

 

Steak / fish playfield X

The playfield has 2 steak targets and 2 fish targets ( one set in front of the pop bumpers / one set on the upper playfield )also the pendulum will changeover which is lit.

Linked to these is the three red upper drop targets.

Knocking down these targets lites the pfx for fish or steak , depending which is lit steak/ fish depends which one is multiplied, shooting the center shot on the upper playfield collects pfx and resets the red targets.

Playfield X is paid depending on which is lit steak / fish.

eg if steak is at 5x it won't pay if fish is lit , these targets are constantly active and reset per player per ball.

Some cleaning up to do but works well so far.

Bit of talk about shooter mecs @grunta666

If you don't recognize the shooter rod

it's a Williams flipper button which just

happens to fit inside the solenoid rod ( dirty boy ).

There is a problem with gluing this in place - replacing the coil.

So I'm looking for the highest temp hot glue to fix it in place.

I also don't know that it won't just snap after

three firings.

 

Due to the concave front of the rod this will be fired from 'street level'

and not from a trench in the shooter lane.

You need a plunger with a bolt on cap at the back of the plunger.

 

OR

 

Grab a vertical knocker plunger, drill and tap a thread in the arse of it and bolt on a washer.

 

No knocker plunger?, a Gottlieb system 1 flipper plunger, drill the arse for the bolt and knock the roll pin out to remove the nylon link replacing it with you flipper button.

 

Love the flipper button idea. Probably better and more durable than a VUK one especially the Data East type.

Troff Triball

Put this off because I always think of it as some sort of problem...but it's not.

Relay board will be under the apron with the

status lights visible because I like

to see the Troff status at all times ( relay 4 being anti ball jam ).

Williams Troff - homebrew optics.

 

No effen plugs and sockets!

SHOOTER LANE

 

Here is the shooter rod installed and the firing sequence.

The inline targets drop out of the way to allow the Skill shot on the top playfield.

During Multiball the inlines will drop permanently during ball saver times, then becoming the add a ball sequence.

SKILL SHOT

 

So as you may have guessed it's ball launch weekend.

Here is the program which runs the shooter lane.

1, Point of no return switch for troff recycle.

2, Launch switch one shot.

3, Ball fire and then auto fire drive.

4, video switch and video out.

5, inline target drop and then reset drives.

6, skill shot rgb drives

7, skill collect switch (on plane).

8, score out and 100x score out

9, 8 bit audio out.

Back to the sixties.... and yet somehow the future

This is the dead pop which shall be the main shot on the lower playfield.

Very little torque required for this but it is nice and tight.

Lower Playfield

 

Bit of a video of playfield just running on the coils.

After playing it a while I think i may have to amend the program thats been written for it.

Oh well.

Done ;

Coding / sounds / Backing track / Flipper / scoring / serial / extra ball / video animations.

To do ;

Playfield Art ( very basic almost as is ) / tweek flipper power / installation.

 

No further spoilers until complete.

I love the in line droppys dropping for the ball coming on the playfield.

 

One feature I really liked was Bally's Centaur attact mode where all the balls came on the playfield by themselves and the machine's slingshots and bumpers were powered and the machine apeared to play by itself but with no flipper power.

 

Only machine to ever do that as far as I know but that feature had people come over to it and watch which is exactly what any attract mode is supposed to do.

 

Loving watching this machine come together @kress .If it is different I love it and you are full of different ideas on your machines.;)
