EM Addict
Hi all Am attempting to get a Stern Nugent going, my first attempt at an SS pin in a long time. Have had the mpu, driver and lamp driver sorted by Ken ( also have a new rectifier board) but am now trying to work out a wiring issue on one of the plugs before I can attempt to fire the game. Just wondering if anyone out there has a Nugent who could let me know the wiring order on the J1 (lower left) plug on the rectifier board. Have got some other interesting things to sort out in the meantime. Someone has attempted to resolder the main connector pins on 3 of the displays and managed to short quiet a few of the connectors, so I am attempting to remove the excess solder and re do the joints. Not sure how this will go but going to give it a go. There is also some corrosion on the legs of the chip on four of the displays also.Would this cause any issues? I suppose once the shorts are sorted , the displays will weither work or not, but just wondering if i should attempt to remove the corrosion? Any help much appreciated. angs1957
Try the SS restoration section, there was a detailed photo thread of Nugent being restore & repaired.
EM Addict
There are four wires. Dk blue, Dk Blue with white trace and red ( the red has been joined to two wires ( hack) which go into two of the connector block pins). I did attempt to find a photo online but couldn't find one that showed the connector from above, so hard to work out order of colours. It did appear though that there are more than four wires on the pics? EM Addict
Thanks heaps Doug. Time to learn how to crimp wires now as need to install new connectors on the rectifier board.
