      Thomas the tank engine. TTTE.

I've just done something very stupid.
I used the words Thomas and pinball in the same sentence in front of my three year old son.
I might have to start selling some projects and just work on the AA and now Thomas pins.
The Thomas one will be just an Arduino running a Hankin/Homepin solenoid board.
Edit: As is usual in my projects this idea has changed.
It'll be very simple and built on an old Orbit1 or Top Score playfield.
I might have some cheap cocktail cabs for sale soon and I might just check the boards in the Phantom and sell them and the cabinet too.😉
      Cheers Trev

I've rebuilt my old discoloured Orbit1 playfield with Gottlieb Pop Bumpers, Data East Slingshots (from the spare Phantom of the opera playfield) and a few Hankin bits. After the playfield was assembled I checked the power supply I bought for the AA pin (on hold for a while) to see if it would fire the solenoids ok. I just wired it to a coil with a push button in the positive line.
That worked fine so I mounted the psu, an Arduino Mega and two 4 way Mosfet boards to the underside of the playfield and started to wire it up. Once the solenoids were wired in I moved on to the switches. I still have the +5v (common) line to add to one side and the flipper wiring to do and the start button. One wire from each switch goes to a digital pin on the Arduino and a pulldown resistor and the other wire on each switch is looped together and goes to +5v.
Flipper switches will switch the +5v going directly to the mosfet board so won't need to be heavy duty and I can use a low power relay operated by the Arduino to turn the flippers off while it's in attract mode. All the lighting will be handled by one string of addressable leds driven by one pin on the Arduino. (I love that idea)
      Yes it's in a Getaway HS2 cab.

      Day one

      Day two

      Day three.
I knew that hole was there for a reason. Hmmm. Smoke machine maybe.😉

      Translite artwork being worked on.
I've ordered 1.8" high blue 7 segment led displays for the scoring and balls in play displays.
      Cheers Trev
