Autosteve
Is a Miss America a EM pinball?. I always called these type of machines a Bally machine or Bingo machine. What are they called?. What ever they are officially called, is there any demand for these type of pieces.
JoeSoap
The miss america you're talking about is classed as more of a bingo type machine rather than a pinball. Specialty: Bingo Machine http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=1609 To certain collectors they may be.
Autosteve
Yep that's the one. 1957 WOW, I wouldn't have thought it to be that old actually. It looks in much better condition than that one though.
illawarra_steelers
there were actually a few bally miss america bingos. there were 2 from memory from the 1970s. are they collectable? sure they are but keeping these running/getting them running if not is a major thing as they are the most complex of all electromechanical games. I have a Miss America Deluxe, is a Bally Bingo, and an amazing work of EM Technologie. Currently has a fault , I think I need Donald Trump to sign an Executive order to send out a rocket scientist to help fix it ! Oh they weigh a tonne ! Brk_oth
ones from the 70's http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=3402 http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=3405 http://www.ipdb.org/machine.cgi?id=3404 I've seen the 70's ones for sale online, whatever price they list it at they haven't sold in months, one went as an auction a few months ago.... I'd say there is no demand and is a very small group of collectors who would be interested in them.

Should be easy to fix" A similar ad would be "Used Space Shuttle, was working, not now. Should be easy to fix "
Autosteve
Yer I would say the one I saw was a 70's model, not the 57 model. I suppose the one saving grace is he has a couple of them but haven't been operated for years. Did it become illegal to operate them or did machines like draw Poker kill them off?. They used to be everywhere when I was a kid.
Mikie
Slot machines killed them off , much cheaper to run This ones a beauty http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=3411&picno=54646&zoom=

Would something like a early 60s poker machine be more your style?.
Mikie
Looks like bingo solid states continued mainly in Belgium for a while Here's an alternate Miss bowling turbo http://ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=4534&picno=8992&zoom=
Autosteve
Some time ago I heard a lot left NSW and went to QLD before pokies were legal in QLD. Once pokies were legal in QLD, the bingos went off to Asia. Don't know how much truth is in that though.

kayakkingoz
I have a Miss America Deluxe. Second run edition. Works great thanks to Graham Mcguiness, the em & bingo wizard in Newcastle. It does not get much play but when I do I can easily spend hours on it.
