What pins have been coming thru the Dedshed

Looks like every coil behind a solenoid expander board requires the two diodes or you start getting mystery coil firing. A cheap easy way to fit a 1amp fuse on every coil as well I guess. Coil pulls more than an amp and the diode pops. Glad I learnt this "needing twin diodes" because I was looking at using solenoid expander boards to drive different coils on different playfields for my HomeBrew. It would have had "mystery coils" firing all over the place.

So back on track.

Seeing as the lane guides were posts with rubber and definitely not correct, I searched for the correct bits.

The left side had the clear plastic as an inline plastic protector, not as the guide.

After searching and cleaning out the cabinet, found the missing part.

Also a spare sling plastic, coin inserts and key fobs, all new. Plus a heap of missing screws.

Going through the bumpers.

These are so much easier with no unsoldering and come out as a complete unit.

Changed to red skirts from the white opaque type.

New sleeves, assemblies polished.

Wondered why the targets were poking up through the playfield and base plate was angled.

Turns out the base plate was back to front.

Now they should sit flat again.

Installed ready to go.

... I also can't agree enough about the use of coloured PB Skirts!

White/natural/opaque ones get dirty SO fast and look shabby almost instantly.

Not to mention that when used alongside the big white PB bodies that area just looks plain boring.

Back in the day they didn't have coloured skirts :lol , but if they did I GUARANTEE they would have used used them.

Gee, the zipper flipper autopsy must be getting close.:) Never seen one of those mechs before.:realmad: Sadly I missed this era of Ballys. It was all Williams and a few Gottliebs I had the pleasure to work on with a few exceptions, Centaur, 8 ball deluxe, Strange Science and now, Black Pyramid.

Yeah getting the flipper kit.

It’s the same as early EM with the roll pins.

But I know what you mean, the zipper mech itself.

Exactly what I thought. Even though I had new white, thought red would be better.

You just confirmed it. [emoji108]

Yer the whites look great for about a month. Wise choice to change I think. What I do also like is the clear bumper bodies but they seem hard to get here in Ozz. Shame because they could be made to look outstanding through lighting and the dirt won't show up either.
