Power supply DATA EAST

Recommended Posts

Have a TFTC and having issues with the power supply board

Seems don't have any power coming to the +12 / -12 of the sound board.... traced it back to power supply board

No power at the board itself

C4 / C1 could be an issue .... still to dismantle the board from box

Am looking at maybe just replacing it with a new PS board

Rottendog?

Or Pinscore PJ-5047-HV

Haven't been able to source anyone stocking the pinscore board .... is there an issue with them or just low volume to supply?

Have read the issues about the rottendog PS

Has anyone had any issues with them of late?

tia

Did you check the print header pins for cracks?

Reflow the solder and check again.

Replace caps C2 (100uF/25V), C3 (47uF/63V), C7 (330uF/25V).

C1 (1000uF/25V) and C4 (18000uF/25V) can also be done if you have the board out of the game anyway.

Does the game have 5V?

Power board fixed

Took off PS and b69ae71a8fbb0508d3a8bed027df5f24.jpgd93f51aaa526ebc425a402a12289217c.jpged228a2dd878f97dd201f0d973f12f61.jpg fixed a few solder joints that looked a bit iffy on the -12 and +12V tracks ... and resoldered c4

Checking this allowed to show continuity through all the circuit carrying the - and + 12V .... TP 1 2 3 AND 4 ALL showed V to the board ... so last thing possible was to make new cables to join the boards and this seems to have solved the issue... seems one of the wires wasnt making contact in the plug 100% of the time
