Few things done over the last few days:

Being made redundant put a bit of hold on getting artwork printed etc, so have gave the cab a few coats of Theater Black paint, quite happy with the result and it will do for now:

Still have to get some acrylic for the front to go over the monitor part etc.

Didnt like the way I was using wood to clamp the monitor in place, it was dodgy at best so spent a few minutes designing a clamp on Fusion 360 and printed a couple out on a 3D Printer:

Also came up with a mount for the cheap aliexpress mini amp that I will use for now, will be simple to attach it to the side of the cab now:

Final update for now, I sat down and figured out how to use GIMP and came up with a take on the classic Williams Defender artwork, we have a 'system' at home were everything that can be connected to or joined etc is prefixed with OUR (it works well and stops the missus asking me which X to use ), so our cab will be called OURCADE:

Few more bits done over the weekend :

Picked up some heavy black card from Officeworks and put simple border around the monitor frame:

    Blends in a bit better:

Got a sheet of Acrylic from Bunnings and cut the main front panel and two parts for the marquee sandwich - was a pain but persevered and got it done in the end , followed this up this evening with using the offcut from the acylic as a brace and the remaining black card to make the back for the marquee section. Put two strips of LEDs across it and wired it up, doesn't look that bad:

What is the angle like to play at? Most of the cabs I play have 45deg slants at least. Except for my lcd mame which you need to stand a fair distance from to compensate

Been away in the UK for a month, but now I am back I should update this.

Nearly there for this build, once I get back to working then I plan to replace the buttons with lit ones across the board, and get some artwork printed, the marquee is just a print from my inkjet at home at the moment.

Still have the plastic film on the acrylic but it looks fine for now, and need to put the speaker cloth on the speaker panel.

Oh and I need to finish off my other 3d printer so I can print out a full sized dummy coin door.

Quick (dark) vid of it running at the moment......
