Price Check - Chrome JTAG Xbox 360 w/ 500GB Internal HDD + LE Star Wars Demon RGH 360

Recommended Posts

Bought stock console brand new and had it JTAG'd. Swapped out with chrome casing for console, controller and HDD enclosure. Still wrapped in plastic! Matching wireless chrome controller as well, with ice blue LED's.

Has been sitting in a box ever since. Just wondering what it's worth?

Once upon a time you would be looking around the $300 mark but that was before RGH which you can do on the newer models. Honestly with those earlier models I would be very hesitant selling one as they were so prone to RROD they could potentially die after one marathon sitting and as such I would make sure that any new owner knows and understands that risk and price it according you could probably ask for $100-$150, personally I would only be comfortable buying one around $75.

No expert and others may disagree on pricing but I went through 3 or 4 of those earlier models using proper ventilation, attempting to limit play time to a few hours, extra fans and so forth but they made no difference in the end.

Uploaded some more pics.

Thanks for the feedback Krumm. I also forgot to mention that it's the Jasper big block model. 512MB NAND. I believe they had most RROD issues sorted by then.

The model you are referring to is the Xenon model, which was notorious for overheating and the X-clamp flexing the motherboard, breaking traces (among other things) after awhile. Also a big advantage the JTAG has over an RGH is the reliable boot times. Insta boot every time with a JTAG, compared to random boots and boot times with most RGH's.

One other question. What would a dual NAND RGH, LE Star Wars 360 be worth, complete (including C3PO controller and Kinect) and all boxed? Only opened/used to RGH.

The chrome casing is sexy but I reckon $150 is on the money. $200 if you can sell to someone who knows nothing about hacks cause JTAG is old. RGH is known to run cooler than JTAG plus runs oN slims as krumm said which is why that isn't done any more. I've had no issues with my RGH machine for the last 4 years, never overheats. Boot time is solid.

Star wars machine is much more desirable with the dual NAND and RGH mod but still I reckon $150 max as you're still looking to sell previous gen console and kinect was/is unpopular. You still see them sit unsold for $20.

Good luck selling, I don't reckon I'll ever sell my rgh 360. It's amazing what such an old console can still do!
