Is the best fine adjustment tool an angle grinder? for homebrew pinball? I know Mr @kress 's answer Anyhow, due to the fact I now have to fit shooter lane firing solenoids I now have to make the shop bought ones fit and my shooter lane covers also fit.....I have already chopped the shooter assembly with the angle grinder and will need some help from @OzBlackKnight to weld bits back, or make a whole new one to suit my needs.....argh.....I will also have to carefully chop the lip on the side of the nicely powder coated apron plate.....No drinking that day, steady hands required. Anyhow some pic's of the bits I have to jigsaw into place and make work.

Slingshot kicker working as a ball launch assembly would make things easier aye?.

Dunno if that would work as good? Also might be a bit wide to fit near the side of the shooter lane trough

Not the preferred method but Data East got away with it on Turtles, Batman etc but there biggest problem was the way they mounted the switch in the lane more than the kicker itself that made it a horrible idea for them.

You need to check things like flipper button and switch clearance of coarse but it may be an alternative having the mech hang under the playfield rather than on the playfield.

@Autosteve that's the problem, clearance....Because of the way the playfields hinge and the location of the flipper mechs, I have to be very careful on how I amount things.
Also with a big mech on the bottom of the playfield in that location it will hit the PCB boards in the cabinet when I open the playfield. Its a very tricky tight machine to create...But I like a challenge

It's a HomeBrew and your allowed to try different things.

What if you mount the shooter mech under the apron itself shooting the ball rather than straight up the lane, at a 45 degree angle and have a curved lower shooter lane?.

If you are using a Williams style multball trough that directs the ball into the shooter lane, the ball will simply roll back down around the curved shooter lane in the path of the shooter mech.

      HomeBrew means no rules.

just a thought.......can the assembly be mounted upside down?
looking at the plunger......seems a bit high and won't hit the ball in the middle, guessin' you know that already?
