People will crap on about how awful it is to do that and it is not the same on a 16:9 lcd...

I Have seen a lot and I think All Daytona's should have the crt's ripped out and converted.

I think it makes the game look a little more modern..

Will look good once finished

Could I get 2 to go please.

44

Don't put two together they will breed

Wouldn't do it unless the monitors were shagged, or you're operating them 16hrs a day.

Nice work mate, I'm starting a similar conversion on two 50" rear pro's this week.

I was wondering how you mounted the black bracket that wraps around the back of the monitor to the cabinet inner sides.

I'm also wondering how to mount it solid and still have a small amount of adjustment as well.

the aussie arcade scene.

LOL

Im hearin ya Mot ;)

I have finally switched out my old 125" 5:4 screen for a 120" 16:9 screen in my lounge room here, but I still cant stand to play 4:3 and 5:4 games stretched out of shape like that. And yep, im still using a CRT projector for superior visuals :)

Now I know youll all be wanting to play original hardware and in most instances, I couldn't agree more, but there is actually a 16:9 mode on the Nebula Model 2 emulator, and in all honesty the game plays so damn good on that you'd hardly be able to tell the difference between real and emulator, so it's worth keeping in mind for any of you that want to play more than just the game your twin came with :)

The monitors were stuffed and they are still run for 14 hours a day 7 days a week

Yeah mate and that's half the issue too, most of those NANAOs were so burned in there is little other option but do as you have done.

the bezels are made out of sheet metal , i had them laser cut and i cut new speaker grills in

i used the same speakers only had to cut 50mm on the plastic - the idea was to copy the original bezel to suit LCD

Wow, very nice. I tried that very same video upscaler card with a model 3 game and the image was very very dark, couldn't see much. Did this work out of the box for you or you had to add something?

On model 3 you must adjust the clamp settings or it will do what you had or fade to red

Thanks. I'll try that. Besides the 4:3 vd 16:9 how good is the picture quality in your opinion? Reasonable good or very pixeled?
