Superpin visual pin project

Recommended Posts

Hi All

Here are a few pics of the virtual pin project i have been working on for the last two years.

I thought if i based its theme/artwork around Batman and Superman my kids might show some interest (none whatsoever)!!

Mitch, (mr pinbologist) built this for me, starting of with a (heavily) modified Gtb Pinball Pool cabinet. As it turns out he only used the cabinet sides, as the front and rear panels were removed and replaced to widen the cab to fit the 46" LCD panel. The backbox was built from scratch to suit the 32" panel (my old tv from the shed).

The superpin artwork was made from a cardboard template, and painted on (very very clever, it looks fantastic.. Thanks Mitch!

Most of the time was spent trying to get the PC set up. I read on a post from Mike (Homepin) the you need to be a PC expert.. he was right :lol

The reason i took this on; I'm the guy who wants all of them but only have room for six games.

The games play really well, some are a little slow but most are smooth and play well.

The graphics are excellent, i like the 70s and 80s games, as thats what i played back in the day.

Will add some more pics of the finished game later on, (these are just some of the pics Mitch had on his PC).

G'day all just thought i'd post up a few more pics from the build;

Because this cab was constructed around the 46" monitor Ian had chosen to use, the cab ended up being an odd size. This meant a normal lockdown bar couldn't be used. To get around this problem i constructed one out of timber and painted it.

Same deal for the speaker/DMD monitor panel..

The Soniq monitor we used for the backglass monitor unfortunately didn't remember its previous state when power was removed (came on in standby mode when powered up), so i constructed this little circuit to turn the monitor on from standby a few seconds after power up.
