Added another couple to the collection these came from the same stash just took me longer to convince mark they needed to be in my shed. Here’s how they arrived the entire back and floor are missing from the Skill wheel and the back and base on the Penny patience is rotten and looked stuffed everything was loose split and really had me concerned ba7a4c34f4e3c772b963931b7a3c4ca6.jpg

Was really excited when I removed the rotted old Lino or whatever was in the base I found this 1922 penny so she was definately used back in the day

Another cool piece of history the penny patience (penny flicker) was actually designed and patented by a bloke in geelong in 1933 I’ll try find where I put the patent

Here are the patents

The original version had a jackpot payout but was made illegal as it was classed as a gambling game so they made them like mine that you just got your coin back until that was also classed as gambling so the coin returns where removed

Probably start on the mechanism now as the local doesn’t have the ply we need for the door.

Also knocked up a new cabinet for this 1934 exhibit supply co Select-em trade stimulator

Well it’s been a while since I’ve had anything worth adding for this from Tony (Illawarra Steelers)

Game had tons of hacks and added mechanisms and all sorts of stuff removed as expected from a sited machine

Game had been rigged up to be 40c a game and always 2 players and with very little info out there about the game it was hard to know what was original etc.

head a break through with an American guy who just purchased one and he sent me some pics at first it was a holy shit moment as his was a very basic almost empty base board mine was overloaded with stuff 😂😂

but with his photos I was able to work out what was original what was not needed and how the game was supposed to work,

his

Mine

The difference between mine and the other one is mines a deluxe model with matching number features and other score bonus type option my match stepper unit is missing the wiper plate and has wires hanging everywhere.

this things a death trap and a nightmare to work on every time I’m inside I have a though if not only the Playfield but both the Playfield and glass coming down and I’d be stuck thst Playfields bloody akward and heavy

With a massive thanks to Tony (Illawarra Steelers) who spotted the add and sent me the details as it wa only 1/2 an hour from my house. Also thanks to Doug (Wiredoug) for his fast work messaging the owner since I didn’t have a gumtree account.

The game was originally operated in Geelong pre decimal days and was never concerted from 3d to 5c which is a very simple job.

Sadly very little I could even do to it needed one screw tightened and wiped off some dust 😂😂
