What a great post @ddstoys . These machines are wonderful and I'm sure I would of played some of these in the early days of arcades. So much character and wonderful artwork.

Thanks mate yeah there's a few beauties in the collection ;)

Well another machine to add to the restoration Que big thanks to tony arrived today via the prowler express thanks John

From the info I've found or Been told it's an English built machine or an Aussie copy of a joystick penny roll game. Roughly between 1949-1950

Here's my starting point

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160727/78892d5f428b9f3fe1c88e2dc077c406.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160727/3ca0a65a7590ec82be137212daa72162.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160727/d9a53c766d84328b7078b2fb55bf874e.jpg

And again from what's available I think this is what it should look like http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160727/0d971d667f6926105b1331a663124c58.jpg

And I found this jammed inside the game so It was originally used with Aussie Penny's

looks like yours originally was white with racing stripes. Where are you going to find a handle or are you going to fabricate one?

The handle is there it's just hard to see in that photo. It's was definately red originally the white with stripes is not original as its been painted of the coin return slot which has been sealed off at some stage

It has got to be the worse game to do an internet search on. Planning on hand painting the guy in the plane?

Yeah only info i could find on it was through asking a British slot machine forum. There's one been painted like the Union Jack in a penny arcade someone else had restored one and then the photos of the red one il start a restoration thread and throw up all the photos they found me

Well my new bowling pins arrived for ten strike. NOS set from the 2003 remake probably paid way to much but hell what are the chances of finding another set. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160823/88f69da172b0097ec6062309cdb333b5.jpg

Very impressive collection. Even better that most were locally operated.

Thanks mate yes I much prefer my locally operated games even though they are way harder to find.

Currently restoring another complete wreck but it was another Aussie built Aussie operated game so it needed to be saved

Here's another one I've had stored away completely eaten out by termites or borers should have been burnt but I couldn't let it die http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/c66f24b8821c882e3433e3b30450e55f.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/e9558f542e43efbe652627c4bca00f18.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/95593f907e71f5d67b2148c807a6db8a.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/91aa3d7fb7cb7dbdd4f8e2694b7fbbe3.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/f24dafb5e4bb139452e07ce01858aabc.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161120/03f1aefb5275bd851f5166dbb5ac1d1e.jpg

Wow, very nice. I have had a few locally built games, but all pinballs a few Hankins and a Stern Cosmic Princess!

I think back to the old amusement industry auctions we attended back in the 80s (Showgrounds, Dandenong etc) and pieces like yours above went for bargain prices.............tough to find now.

Just checking out your collection again Dan and there are some real treasures there. You have a very good eye for pieces.

At that auction I mentioned at the showgrounds in 1985 there were around five Par 5 penny flickers and a few Skyjump or similar games. There were plenty of older arcade pieces and many pins and videos. We bought an upright Space Invaders for $60, they had about 8 of them. My brother still owns it. The other prices were like that too with most EM pinballs going for $100.

The Seeburg Coon Hunt is a real find and a land mark shooting game. That game with its ray gun style pre-dated most large floor standing gun games. I love ball bowlers and to find locally operated ones is very tough. I never saw one on location, but heard there were a few in QLD years ago.

A Midway Chopper was on site at Mutual Bowl under Flinders St Melbourne, this later became Invaders after the bowling alley closed. In the 70s Mutual was the best large place for arcade games in Melbourne. Southern Cross Bowl had lots of interesting stuff too and both had Chopper games, numerous rifles like Chicago Coin Coney Island and Shoot Out, Midway guns, Kasco guns, Speed King Driver etc etc There was another arcade on Spring St Melbourne in the Electro mechanical era with a lot of good stuff too. The machines in this Spring St arcade and all the AMF bowling alleys were supplied by California Enterprises. We bought lots of machines from them and later bought out complete locations from them including the sited pinballs, jukes & videos when they were winding down.

I like your taste in pinballs too, Strikes & Spares is one of the best and we still have one.

I look forward to your restorations and next finds.
