Last time I was in Japan I spend too many hours in the game centres. I love the fact that they are still so popular over there and relatively affordable. I have some pix I snapped in a game center at Nakano Broadway, Also a few I took in Super Potato Ikebukero. I could post them in this thread if your interested. Groove coaster... I use to spend hours playing Sega Texas Holdenthat paid out coins. You played against other players from all over Japan and got to see which prefecture they were playing from. 5m3g_head Posted February 9, 2015 Share Posted February 9, 2015 I spent a lot of time playing MaiMai... its a Music game that looks like a washing machine. Interestingly the Japanese people I spoke to didn't realise it as their washing machines seemed all to be top loaders. There were lots of the POD games with 180 deg screens, I remember seeing them on my last few visits, I think they are old news in Japan. Rows and Rows of other games I never got around to playing. One of the coolest arcades I played was Dark Escape. Its a shooter you sit in, it has a large 3d screen (you wear glasses, I think they were passive). It also has full surround sound (according to the specs full 5.1 for each player ! crazy ). The guns and seats vibrated and air canons that shoot in your face. It was very effective and to be honest pretty creepy... Very good fun. You should see guitar freaks XG ! It is massive.
