That looks really smick ... :055:

1. Resolution of the screen is very good.

2. 8 buttons per player - a piano high class cab ... :024:

3. A flash Pacman CPO - what great taste and it's ultra nice.

Though 3 centre white buttons puzzle me?

An outstanding taste for wife selection ... 10/10 in my books ... :023:

Thanks OOO! They're just navigation buttons for use with the frontend. One to select game (enter), one to exit game (esc) and one to pause game (my wife's suggestion/request!)

Rather than Dragon's Lair, it looks like Brad's Lair.

You have the cave decked out with plenty of work.

You know I am going to love those posters, especially the 'Yeti' on Space Invaders, and the ultra smart looking Atari arcade promo of Star Wars.

I noticed your 2 x comp rigs are both horizontal screens.

And the LAI cocktail I can't make out what's in that one, I just see red and blue on the CPO ... Asteroids?

Yes at Brads Lair ;)

Yes there is lots of work to do but little time unfortunately. Ugh currently trying to write a 4000 word essay on Project Management to boot =/

Those posters are awesome. I'd love to acquire some more of a different type at some stage.

The MAME 'lowboy' style cab where most of the magic (haha) happens.

The cocktail next to it runs ArcadeSD atm, that is when it's not covered in toys..

& the laptop & 'Arc-Tari' controller.

10 yard fight won't work on the cab for some reason so I've been using the old laptop.

The Atari console was beyond repair due to PCB corrosion (was full of water) so was resurrected as an usb setup.

The ArcTari joystick is pure awesome :)

How do you find ArcadeSD ? I'm looking to refit my 2P mame upright as it is a windows based xxx-1 type machine. (Games Family, gamebox system) while it works fine, it is slow to boot, and adding games is a massive pain in the rear.

I missed this question OOO.

The cocktail is a vertical and was mamed before I got it. It has a 14" vertical CRT in it. I upgraded the computer and its running mame with a Mala frontend. The list has been pruned to only display vertical, cocktail flipping supported games =)

That's a good idea, I have PL-1 Start as a shift button so that holding that then pressing other buttons will do the same, but invariably people don't read the instructions I put on the bezel and have to ask or get it wrong and manage to exit the frontend (MaLa) even though I have that function disabled. Your way would be easier for guests, especially if the buttons were labeled.

Nice collection Brad, I used to play Bio Attack on a home system, I didn't have many consoles, I thought i played it on my Vic-20 but i can't see it on games lists. I have played it on mame recently and can't get over how bloody difficult it is, the version I played was easier from memory.

Thanks! The Atari is really ergonomic for me. It's got the sanwa type buttons too which are really fast to use. Was fun to build.

Tha Arcade SD is great. Games play well & sound great. Cost about 300 I think? was a while ago I got it. Haven't had any updates for ages. I think there's about 150 games on it, both vert & horiz.

When I got the cab at auction it had the bio-attack marquee in it but a Violence Fight PCB. Both awful games imo ;)

Just saw this post ...

OMG, that's a beautiful machine in the middle there, and quite a unique design.

I think you would have a lot of fun mashing on that machine, I know I would!

Where's my 20s!

Nice one on the right there too ... ;)

Is that a voltage converter or surge protector on the floor?

Hahaha believe it or not.... It's a smoke machine! When my kids have a party it gets set to chuck smoke at certain intervals. When the mirror ball and spinner get moving it makes for a 'Far Out' experience! Trying my best to bring the arcade lockin experience to my kids, we may be the last generation to know what a real arcade is..... Sad really :(

Just saw this thread hiding under the MGL comp sub forums, so thought i better re-post my setup here.

My son found the mame games on my old xbox so we built a control panel a few months back, well he gave me dave the minoin and went back to playing skylanders .

found my bench in the garage was the perfect height to stand and play, so here it sits for now.

Had the SMB MW for a few years now so once the control panel was done I added Arkanoid in the scramble cab and a SI pt2 with a 412 in 1 , about to replace the crap control panel it came with though.

Am in the process of clearing some old junk out of the garage and setting it up better, currently its just a messy shed with a couple of games in it.

Great CP Batfink, I like the short shaft Japanese style joysticks they are my preference and you have good button placement and plenty of room for two players. The Super Mario pin looks good, I would love to have a play on that. No dude you can't move in with me, but you are welcome to visit next time we have a meet which unfortunately won't be until about next September. Look up our previous meets (we have had three now) Head 2 Head in the meets and gatherings forum.

I can honestly say i have never had a need to work with wood/metal or plexi and did enjoy the challenge. A few cosmetic imperfections but happy to be playing with my own creation.

As for the joystick height, was kind of an accidental bonus, the wood is 19mm so i routered the joystick in a bit as it was way to short, bit of guess work but seemed to work out ok.

The Mario pin is a bit too easy , current top score the way I have it setup ( tickets / reduced bonus scores, 3 balls) is 800+mill and that was with a 600mil first ball. after an hour or so its time to move on.... Kids love it though and that was the main reason for it, plus it looks great and i was restricted for room. Hopefully a normal pinball next year when i make some more room and stop buying arcade machines :D

Will keep my eye out for the next meet and try to make it !!!

update-- Just saw your old meet post, Launceston makes things a lot easier as the wife has been wanting to visit her uncle there , dump and run !!!

Here's the cab I play on, a lowboy I put together in 2003! not much has changed since then except the PC has had a few upgrades.

Nothing special though I do like my little touch pad for cursor attached to the right of the cab & my volume control on the top right.

Hacked a 6 button controller for P1 & a PowerRamp for player 2, PowerRamp gives you a passthrough keyboard & a fully configurable joystick/buttons hack.

Nice looker! Is that an LCD monitor?

Its a 19" PC CRT Monitor with the case removed & bezel sprayed black, slotted in nicely even srcewing into the holes for the Arcade CRT. The pic is good it was just the flash on the cab pic making it look faint. (added a better screen pic below)

I was lucky to have access to a large format printer & cutter for a while, thats when I printed & cut the decals around the Bezel & marquee, had the cp powder coated blue, it was only by luck that the blue came out so close to Mame blue :)

Nice! A 19" CRT is about as classic as it comes!
