Old or new flipper bats?? What do I order??

ROLLERBALL

I want to buy some new flipper bats for the tri zone..

The ones on it now are ok but I can't adjust them as the grub

screws have left a divot / hole in the shaft...

So when I tighten the grub screws they always find the same position

and one flipper is a little higher than the other...

They are the older style bat with the screw holding the actual

plastic bat onto the metal base and shaft...

Can I just buy the standard flipper bats used in the newer dmd

games?? Or won't they fit??

If you mean the new ones that are one piece molded to suit later WMS/Bally machines, then you can't use them unles you use the new filpper mech or if you modify them.

They are have a sharper end on the bat compared to the old style and they don't have the recess for the grub screw.

If you use them without modifying them the grub screw will bruise the shafts and you will have a lot of trouble taking them out later on.

If you have access to a lathe then you could turn the recess into the shaft and then use them as you would the old style two piece flippers, or install the later flipper mechs.

file where the grub screws dig into shaft, doesn't have to be perfect you just need to take the bur off then flatten it off a little. Then you will be able to adjust the flippers correctly :D
+1, Thats what I do if swapping them over doesn't work.

Those are the ones I mentioned before that don't have the recess for the grub screws, I know because I just bought some last week.

I am not sure if Greg sells the old style flipper shafts, he does sell the bats though. http://www.rtbb.com.au/catalog/produ...cf2bb301a67fa2

If you need old style shafts then send him an email.
