Seeking: Bootleg SuperQIX; not for buying, but for a ROM dump...

Ok, my problem is this. I was trying to fix a bootleg SuperQIX with sprite errors. During this, I had one of the ROMs out of the socket (and forgot to dumpd it). Now the clown who fitted this socket, had soldered it in backwards. So when I put the ROM back, it was actually reversed resulting in it getting fried. As I didn't have a dump of the ROM, I was basicly screwed. I have tried all the different dumps in MAME, but can't find one that works on my board.

This is how the board looks
    89561DB4-3BBB-4B9C-A222-1991E39BA10C-2515-000001E241CD8415_zpsf3a29cff.jpg

and the ROM in question is the one in the upper rigth corner; here's a close-up

The ROM is an 2732. So if you have this board, or one that looks like it, I would be very glad to get a dump of this IC. Otherwise, this board is just for the scrap-pile...

Hey elgen,Is that the MCU rom on that board? Acording to Caesar http://caesar.logiqx.com/php/emulato...me&game=sqixb1 the mcu is a Bad dump,I'm pretty sure this is the set of roms your after and if it is the mcu the file you would want would be sq07.108 and there are a few different dumps of this rom floating around
Caeser has the crc your after as d11411fb and coin-op has it listed as 71A598C http://www.quarterarcade.com/tech/VM...4&set=superqix

and here is some interesting info from another mame database on this romset:
    NOTES:

    - The sq07.108 ROM came from a bootleg where the 8751 MCU was replaced by a model using external ROM. The ROM was bad (bit 3 was stuck high). It was recovered by carefully checking the disassembly but there might still be some mistakes. The bootleg MCU code is different from the original; it was modified by the bootleggers to avoid use of port 2.

    - The MCU sends some ID to the Z80 on startup, but the Z80 happily ignores it. This happens in all sets. There appears to be code that would check part of the MCU init sequence ($5973 onwards), but it doesn't seem to be called.

    - sqixb1 might be an earlier version because there is a bug with coin lockout: it is activated after inesrting 10 coins instead of 9. sqix doesn't have that bug and also inverts the coin lockout output.

    - sqixb2 is a bootleg of sqixb1, with the MCU removed.

Hi, sorry that I haven't been that good at answering at all the forums...
I thank you all for all the good advise and help I've gotten on the different forums, but just now I actually managed to pull off myself.

I DID have the right ROM-image, I'd just been programming it wrong };-(
I'd used my Top2005+ to program a 2732 (Vpp=21V), and even though the software says it's capable of doing it, it apparently isn't... I'd also tried programming a 2764 (Vpp=12.5V) with the doubled image and then modified it so that the pins would fit the socket (maby I'd done something wrong there, cause that should have actually worked?!), but that didn't work either.

Now tonite I used my old ISA-based Sunshine programmer http://elgensrepairs.blogspot.dk/201...-acquired.html
(thnx Jarl for donating it to me), and that did the trick using the sq07.108 ROM with CRC32=d11411fb.

So lesson learned. Top2005+ can't be thrusted when programming very old EPROM (with Vpp > 12.5) that ought to be programmed with the classic algorithm (50ms/write).

Again thx all you guys, now I can get on with solving the sprite-problems };-P

...and ofcause I'll post a link to the rep log when it's done.

For reference, here are the links to the threads on the other forums I've posted this problem on:
