Australian IFPA Endorsed Pinball Events UPDATED INFO

Recommended Posts

International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA) is the International organisation which oversees and endorses competitive pinball throughout the world. All players who compete in an IFPA endorsed event have their placing ranked on the World Pinball Players Ranking List (WPPR). Here you can see where you are ranked against your fellow countrymen and against the rest of the world. By clicking on Country, you can see where all the Australian's are ranked for their country.

There are some basic rules that need to be adhered to and followed if you would like to run an IFPA event, but all are welcome to participate. Click here to read some of the FAQ's about the IFPA and how their events work.

Also, here is a link to the TGP Guide page to see what tournament formats are worth when working out which format you would like to hold and how many points it might attract.

Post here in this sub forum if you have any questions or email me or Luke direct if you would like to hold an IFPA endorsed event here in Australia. The next post outlines how we would like your tournament submitted to us.

Aussie Arcade is proud to be associated with helping grow competitive pinball in Australia and it is fantastic to see some of its members achieving good standings against some of the best in the world already.

Part of original post from 2012 kept intact:

Australia is still quite new to competitive pinball, but there have been a few IFPA endorsed events staged over the past year to help establish a player ranking within Australia and have two Aussies compete at IFPA9 in Seattle, Washington recently. We even have New Zealand now active on the IFPA events calendar and hopefully within the next few months we can have two of their representatives competing in next years World Championships at IFPA10, which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany.

Competitive pinball is growing at a good rate here in Australia and just starting out in New Zealand. It is an area that can push pinball back into the spotlight. You may have already noticed that the media is getting interested and involved with what is happening in the world of pinball, with even some of our members on the radio and in newspaper articles. This will continue to grow with the increase of competitive pinball events, be it competitions, championships or leagues.

Any events that will be IFPA endorsed will be advertised and talked about in this section. Stay tuned for some great events that will be coming out in the next few months.

Cheers,

Dan

How to find upcoming IFPA events near you

If you are interested in whoppers (or just playing in an IFPA tournament), the IFPA provide a nifty proximity search:

https://www.ifpapinball.com/calendar/

You can select a location and a radius, and the search results will show you every registered IFPA event in that area.

If you want to see everything in Australia (or any other country), click on the "Full Calendar" tab, select the country, and click "Apply Filter". This shows you everything for that country nicely ordered by date.
