Really? I guess we should create a V.Tech owner list Well, from an educational standpoint it's not bad at all, but I feel the controls make simple games unnecessarily complex to play... I'm not surprised your kids broke a few controllers.

Been chasing mystery of silver mountain for awhile now. Its nice to have the pair and its a shame they didn't do more.
I have another copy of island of secrets which ive lost in my hoard somewhere along with build youre own adventure all by Usborne so i bought another copy. Island of Secrets seems far more common.
I typed island out a few years back on my 8088 PC in MS Basic and transfered it to the Apple II using ciderpress. Now I have my Apple II platinum set up its time for anther type in session.

    @ Arcade King

Very nice finds. Text adventures and their early graphical hybrids on C64 are definitely a treasured genre for me too. There was a series by a company called "Mountain Valley Software" that I first played in primary school that I'd love to get originals for one day. I've had to contend myself with pirated copies all these years. "Mystery Island" was one of the first addictive games that made me dream about playing it. My IT/Typing teacher even put it on tape for me back in the day. I later met a mate in high school who copied more for me.

Anyhow, cool thread, it's fun to browse and keep an eye on what people are still finding out there.

I only wish I keep all my old mags so any leads to these sort of books is gold to me.
    Thanks.
