Mini Pinmame Machine

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've started to build a little Hyperpin table and I thought I'd share photos.

Not wanting a full size cabinet just yet I thought I'd go with something easier and smaller.

Ingredients so far:

22" Asus Monitor

Dave - Ikea Laptop Table

Ipac2

6 x Sanwa buttons

Fiio speakers

Asus EEE Transformer for the DMD display - using Splashtop hd for Android and ZoneOs for PC to connect to a second virtual screen

U-Hig -g

Awesomeness

On the way:

Zotac Zbox ad10 - mini pc to mount under the table

At the moment I've got everything hooked up to my desktop pc while I'm waiting for the mini PC to arrive, but so far everything works great.

I'll post some more pictures as it progresses.

Cheers.

The second screen is my Asus Tranformer tablet, it has an IPS screen plus I've got the black level on the dmd set to zero insead of the default twenty. This really helps to get rid of that washed out look the dmd usually has. You can change the setting in either vpinmame or setdmd.

Cool

I look forward to seeing this progress.

Many have come and gone, but I can't recall any being finished, so all the best :)

Hmmm, I'm nearing completion of #3 so maybe I need to get off my butt and post up a thread or two so I can help peddle the virtues of virtual pinball........

Hey jadflat - how did you find the UHID-G? I had a go but just couldn't calibrate it so I ended up using a couple of mercury switches to give me "digital" nudging and they work really well. Neither Future Pinball or Visual Pinball have native analog support for the UHID-G anyway so it was only ever going to be digital anyway.

It's a very funky setup you've used with the Ikea table and it solves the problem of trying to make a mini-pin that looks like a real pin and finding there is no space for everything inside the cabinet. Once you're done, make sure you have a look over at http://www.ikeahackers.net and consider submitting your little treasure.
