      Star Wars harness project

Seems this harness is wanted but rarely available

This thread is to discuss this, with the view to having them made or making it easier to make one yourself

So join in and say if you need one or are willing to participate in some way in getting these made from scratch. Pics, part numbers etc

I don't want to make any $ from this, so I will clear that up at the start. I just want to make a guide etc for every one to use

I do have an incomplete Atari USA Upright harness and an Atari USA SW Cockpit to copy off.

      Thanks

      So Ben

So, if you find a space duel harness (Or gravitar, or Black widow) the power harness can be used on SW, so it would need a small modification to fit (IE 1 x Plug is different)

So, remember there are 2 parts to Atari Harnesses, the Power 1/2, and the PCB/control 1/2 (above diagram)

If you try and get a Space duel harness, as long as it contains the bit from the power brick (That 15pin plug and accompanying harness) it can be adapted

You should have a go at making it, what better way to learn. I have to say, there are NO dangerous power in this 1/2 of the harness. The power 1/2 contains power to the fluoro light (110VAC), and that is not needed to be made if you get a Space duel Harness.

Are you able/keen to crimp all day long? Could be fun

Let me know how you feel about that , I am happy to get bugged to death till finished, this thread is like a DIY thread

      Are you still in?

So Dez, are you going to reproduce the entire machine buy the end?

I cheated using this Aussie company
Male & Female Molex Sockets 0.084"
Male & Female Molex Sockets 0.093"

You just search the first 4 digits of the molex number (including the hyphen)

I was speaking to marcwolf the other day and he knows a car mob that would put a harness together for the right amount of speccie. Once you have all the measurements I'll get a quote and then post it, might prove a lot cheaper to make one youself methinks but easier to get fabbed if you have the coin (which I dont).

      Cheers
      Ben
