Resto of konami wec le mans (big spin) arcade driving simulator

Recommended Posts

Hey guys ive got a few projects on the go at the moment but they are boring compared to this one. I scored this off ebay, seen it,just had to have it.

Its in average condition for its age being a 1987 model .

Originally it was bought new in the late 80's for the scenic railway at katoomba nsw and was used everyday until a refirb early 2000's

then it was purchased by a bloke that owned a holiday park at blackheath who had it up till now and was used by park visiters

after making the trek up the mountains from sydney and bringing it home i finally got the chance to plug it in and see what problems i was in for...

Hope these pics work

i remember playing one of them back in the day!

hopefully its just the chassis and the PCB is fine.

can you hear the game playing?

i can see some colours there so the PCB is working somewhat

good luck, its a very neat and compact driving console, great for small spaces you cant fit a big driver cab.

with new paint it will look amazing

Hopefully back to original the fiberglass is in average shape

I plugged it in and got a rolling screen which I thought would only be chassis adjustment

I got the picture the best I could but still had horizontal roll.

After a few emails back and forth to joey from jomac a new chassis was ordered the old NANAO had flyback issues

All the sounds work so hopefully when I fit the new chassis it will be playable, then the fun begins..

Thought about a different colour scheme and being a Mazda rotary fan was going to paint it up the legendary mazda787B 4 rotor lemans car colour but decided to keep it original. Got the new chassis up and running will post some pics up soon game plays good now time to pull it to bits to repair fibreglass

haven't had much time over xmas/new years to do much but i pulled the boards out and cleaned 25 years of dust, lolly pop wrappers, cigarette butts, and a few other nasties off them

And the best thing was i found the original manual tucked up underneath
