Cocktail Glass Clips

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I made a cocktail cabinet some time ago now and all was completed except one thing, which has been put off for too long

Ive never installed Glass clips to hold the top together

I remeber the ones available and around at the time of my build had been the correct size, but the underneath

and connection to the mdf top was not long enough and you would be screwing them into the t-mold

Havent had much recent luck in finding anything around that would suit

The top is 16mm, and glass is 6mm, even though thats 22mm a measurement check looked more like 24mm

Possible due to artwork or maybe the way its sitting somehow

Just a simple C like clip would be perfect, just need that bottom part to be longer and probably around 15-20mm

The top can naturally be much shorter, enough to hold glass well

Any direction would be much appreicated, nothing worse than having a build at 99%

Thanks

Hey Woka,

These are quite common I've noticed, and I wish they would work

Unfortunately the way the top is and its curves, these would not work

Actually I realised ive said I need a "C" type, probably more sideways U

Side profile needed would be

Ive noticed In2AMusements has these classed as basic clips / out of stock

Ive sent a email to find out the height and length of the bottom piece, as the draw back so far has been the bottom being too short and the screw

would simply not go in to the mdf but the t-mold slot and t-mold itself (which isnt ideal)

I make my own as I could not find any decent ones to suit the sizes I needed.

Many people have been asking for them on other forums, but its hard to put a price on them due to the length of time to make them.

These are hand made, so if the clip is out by 0.25mm then the clip is either too tight or too loose. But generally get 6 good ones from 8 made.

I did make a thread about how to make them, but not sure if I did one on this forum.

Here is a thread from another forum which shows how to make them. I use a panbrake, but you could use a vice.
