Computer monitor -> arcade cabinet ?

Lomax

Question

Hi Guys,

I've got myself a 21" monitor (trinitron tube) that I'd like to use in my cabinet (a custom made Hankin-style 60-in-1).

I've removed most of the plastic case, and now have the tube with metal and PCB all around it.

I'm wondering how much I strip the thing down? Do I just shove it in as it is now? Or do I completely strip it down to the actual tube, and then remount all the PCBs on the inside of the cabinet?

Any info regarding computer monitor -> arcade cabinet will be appreciated.

I dunno if it helps, but the monitor I just stripped out had just the tube, and the PCBs were mounted in the cab.

I dont suppose it matters which way you go. Obviously it's nicer with the boards mounted seperately, but maybe safer for you to mount the screen with the boards attached... I'd play it safe and build a mount that allows you to leave the PCBs attached.

But Im a new comer, so dont take my advice as gospel ;)
