Info on crt for pc mame cab build

nemx

Question

Hey AA freaks

Im more than a little confused regarding using a crt for my mame cab.

To connect a 68cm crt to my pc for a mame build what will i need to do, what are my options?

Do i need a chassis? Can i plug it in via dvi to rca cable? Or can i use s-video.

Many thanks in advance

Cheers Nemx:)

The vga out from the pc --> j-pac --> universal chassis --> crt

Don't buy a arcade vga immediately, you can get better results with a $20 card from 5 years ago but it requires more configuration.

Guru great link but that is a rebuilt unit not a 68cm crt tv. This is why I'm confused...

if it's a TV then use a video card with s-vid out, that's how I have mine.

But what is the quality like? Is there a big difference between the two.

I think it's fine, going with j-pac "should" be better, I've never seen a PC with j-pac though
