Maybe stop the adults first.

Lead by example.

thats true, I guess its easier to let an Ipad or iphone parent your kid than it is todo it your self.

Gone are the days where parents would go out side with the kid a play Tonka trucks so they can dig around in the dirt, or go out side with them and build a tree house with the kid or stuff like that, that stuff requires work for the parent.

My brothers kid is 18months old and it has its own Ipad to watch the wiggles and play these so called child learning games. granted he actually does outside activities with his daughter as he likes being outdoors and it was his wifes Idea get an ipad, but I thought it was a bit worrying having that tech that early as it would create habits.

When I quizzed him about it, he said he wasnt a fan of the idea but the child care that his kid goes to once a week all the kids do is sit around playing ipads. what ever happened to arts and craft?

Crazy world

I think the smart phone has actually changed human behaviour and the best example as others have mentioned is observing a dining area, a place that should bring people together in conversation, but with a smart phone in hand changes the whole dynamic. I saw 6 people at a dinner table, fork in one hand, phone in the other and no verbal communication at all. It was truly ridiculous.

You probably need a permit for the tree house in this nanny state.

Yer probably right about that, and most likely want you to take a health and safety course before operating a Tonka truck, dont forget about the sand pit Im sure it cant exceed a certain depth and you probably need a Mining license to dig in it lol

Lets give him the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks Arcade King. I feel like i'm being unfairly targeted. Honestly, i didn't even look at the date of the post, and hastily made a comment.

no there isnt

people do not like it when people spam the forum just to gain access to the trading section

the date has been changed so access cannot be gained for a few more months

That's your opinion, and it's not fair on people trying to be involved. No disrespect intended.

Well I never thought I would see the day. My brother who is 64 told me he wanted to buy a mobile phone. I couldn't believe it. He has no technical knowledge and it will be totally foreign to him. Someone who had a broken down car recently asked him if he had a phone as they had left theirs at home. Must have made him think about things. He was going to get into a contract with telstra. I said don't you dare. I gave him a galaxy s4 I had and an old aldi sim which has the 365 day credit set up.

He will never use it, just wanted to have one in case of an emergency.

Keep posting and ignore us old farts.

Nothing wrong with resurrecting some old threads.

I hate the technology with the kids today...started saying "in my day" LOL. We have a basket when we have people over - Adults & kids...phones in please...you should see the confusion, death stares and even anger. You want to use the phone...stand in the corner. I goto bed about 10:30 - 11 and my daughters phone is there (tech curfew at 8:30 Sunday - Thurs) and theres messages coming in galore. I'm the meanest parent and it AND I have no idea how its destroying her life
