SF2 CE Art

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a lowboy with SF2 CE in it. it has the LAI marquee but some clown has cut it down to fit and one one of the characters is missing completely. The marquee has a picture of each the fighter and the respective move list printed below.

I would like to get an image file of the LAI marquee so I can rescale and print to fit the cab. Anyone got one?

I'll post a pic tonight of what I mean.

Thanks,

Well, I have a replacement board for the CE that crapped out on me after only a few days :( This one is a Hyper Fighting :D

I have put together a bit of arf for the CP, Bezel and Marque and would appreciate any feedback before I send it off for printing.

It's all in Vector apart fro the character images, but they are high res and can be resized well without loss. Tell you what, tracing the tiny dots in the marquee around the fists was a right pain in the arse.

I actually had an issue with the artwork :realmad: I received it from GoG and the bezel and CPO were all messed up. Turns out the files i sent to Scott (created in inkscape) were fine when viewed in inkscape, but not so if viewed with illustrator or similar :( It was to do with the filters for blurs etc.

So, I had to redo them, send them off and wait. I had an email on Friday saying they had shipped, so I should have them soon. The side art is on and looks great! The Mrs says it's her favorite (looking) game in the games room (well it's still in the shed, but that's a technicality).

When I get the new artwork in, i'll post up some pictures of the finished job.

Well, this has turned into quite a saga.

1st the CPO was messed up due to software incompatabilities, so redo it and order another.

Then I get the new CPO, looks great! Apply it to the CP and absolutely stuff it up. I had major issues with getting it on smooth. There is 18 holes in this CP (2 Joys, 14 buttons, 2 coin mechs) and all those voids made the CPO distort and stretch oddly. The end result would have driven me crazy so i stripped it back off. Time to order the 3rd CPO!

3rd arrives and I have decided that I cannot risk trying it again without changing something. I decide to try the wet method. I line it up, clamp it on strip a bit of the adhesive cover, spray the water and get into it. End result is perfect! It went on SO easy this way. I was amazed at how easy it was. I have had trouble with the wet method in the past around the bends, it just wouldn't bond. This time i just used water, no detergent, and had a win.

I'll get some pics up this weekend after i wire up the controls, but I have to say, it's looking pretty damn good!

At home today with the kids and was cleaning up the games room. I realised that I never actually posted any pics of the cab with the artwork done. Sorry they are not great, I couldn't bring myself to pull it out from the wall to get better shots.

Bloody thing though, the board shat itself. That's the second SF2 board it's had now. Not sure if I'll risk another due to the age of these things and their difficulty to repair or just put a bloody PC in there and run a SF mame set up...

I'll sit on it for a while and think about the best option.

I didn't have my SFII CE at the time this thread was made. But I've scanned it up for you anyhow. Attached a small JPG version of it, I have a 49.5mb TIFF and 122mb PSD of it as well.

It isn't perfect but maybe you can clean it up. I scanned it in segments and pieced it together.
