    Speakers for a Mame Cab

Last thing I need to buy are speaker. Any suggestions? I don't want anything too expensive, just something that is easy to mount inside the cabinet, or is there no such thing and I need to buy some speakers and pull them apart?

Lots of cheap and easy options, it depends on if you want to use computer speakers or car speakers or anything else . Depending on how you're planning on setting them up even cheap speakers can be great sitting inside a solid box. Personally I used computer speakers, T20 creative gigaworks they were about $85 and do the job fine for gaming and jukebox but you could spend $20 if the cabinets mainly for older mame games.

Depending on how much you want to spend, Jaycar has a good little 18W stereo amp and speakers that will more than do the job.

They don't have any speakers currently which are full range, so you'd have to either make your own crossover and buy the components or get a more expensive complete speaker. I did the former on my cabinet, and while the sound is excellent it was a little costly (but I got the components at a discounted rate). Alternatively, source a full range speaker from somewhere else on the net or eBay. Never know what you might find.

If you are after something cheap, I have these http://www.gameroom.com.au/catalog/p...roducts_id/103

and a small amp to suit http://www.gameroom.com.au/catalog/p...products_id/90

I do have more powerful amps and speakers, but these are ample for a standard arcade machine.

I bought myself a cheap pair of creative USB powered speakers. Not sure how I'll mount them yet, but I'll get the cabinet together with them inside to make sure they're loud enough before I settle on using them. I think they'll be more than loud enough to annoy the crap out of my other half when she is watching tv
