Visualizations for SK ?

Recommended Posts

I've got a SK Video Jukebox set up with Dual Screens.

2nd screen displays mpg videos.

When playing audio only mp3's theres nothing really displayed on second screen except the boarder.

Has anyone ever had any luck with maybe visulizations on the 2nd screen with SK.

Anyone got any idears to get something on the 2nd screen rather than nothing, whether while playing a song or not.

Since I'm no PC Guru , I was thinking maybe dual input monitor as 2nd Screen OR making all the Mp3's into mpgs & adding a silent attract mode vid. But that seems a bit too much effort & I wouldn't have a clue where to start.

I have got a couple attract mode mpgs with no sound if that helps.

Cheers

Hi ..I have been looking at it for a while thanks acejas..Definately next on my list of must builds..& yeah your right it would give me what I'm after.

I thought I'd start with SK as It's hardware requirements made it cheap to build plus it was simple & reliable.

Cheers Greg

i love skjukebox , i like the look it seems to be pretty reliable and i have the colors and fonts looking really good , what a shame there is no support and upgrades available , a simple thing like move the end song in a playlist to next playing would be so handy , the problem im having is i have an album with all my favorites in them about 300 songs but if someone wants a particular song and add it to the bottom of the cue it takes ages to move it up click by click as you cant drag and drop , dam cant someone hack this program develop a great juke and make it even greater

the only other complaint i have is the a-z jump , would be much easier to have a - z showing on screen top and bottom so you could just touch them and go to corresponding letter

and you cant color the onscreen display as far as the jump search list etc buttons go

come on people someone please get to work on this program or copy it and make it better lol , there is not one juke ive seen that has everything i want but sk is close

I love SK Jukebox too, it's just missing a few features to make it perfect for me.

You might be interested in this jukebox program currently being developed, it's called SKG Jukebox and I'm currently a beta tester for it.

It aims to duplicate the look of SK Jukebox and improve on it's features.

It has the A-Z thing you want.

I think the programmer skepticalgeek is still looking for beta testers if you are interested.

He seems willing to implement peoples suggestions.

Thanks for the links Retroborg

I remember coming across them a while back but for the life of me couldn't find them anymore.

I hope this guy gets things off the ground.

I'd love to test it too, but I read where he's full up for windows testers

well this is the best news ive heard :) ive sent geek and email hoping he may let me test as i have a good understanding of jukes and there features , so the jump button has been resolved with a-z at the top :) one of the other problems was the not being able to move a song in a big tracklist to next playing , can you tell me if the PLAY NOW button in the tracklist dialouge box plays the song immediately while retaining the rest of the track list ?

a random play inside the tracklist would be good too , are the settings in skjuke ( options - current song settings - spectrum) available i have mine colored pink bars with aqua blue ticks looks really good at least to me and id like to keep it

ill be keeping a close eye on this project , whats the estimated time frame for the juke to go to the public/

At this stage SKG has nowhere near as many options as SK Jukebox but I'm sure later versions will end up being quite similar.

Good to hear you are a beta tester, hopefully we can get SKG working bug free then get the features we need implemented.

yes it was a little buggy , so first things first , but some great options on it albeit some that still could be tweaked but hes doing a great job and certainly on the way , i had a play this arvo and will put together a list of things that were buggy

this could possibly be the best jukebox made in a year or two , i hope like salmon king skgeek doesnt burn himself out i wish i was a programmer but unforturnately im not so i cant help there im sure there is a lot of work in it
