Have a look at this for a Hobart forecast........

" Sunday 26 August

Mostly cloudy. Showers with possible hail, easing to isolated showers around midday, clearing later in the evening. Showers falling as snow to as low as 200 metres at first before gradually retreating to higher levels during the day. The chance of thunderstorms in the south early in the morning. Winds westerly 40 to 60 km/h turning northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h in the late evening "

What was it the other night, 20.2 and no heater. Not tonight I assure you:lol

Just had a squiz out the window and Barrow has a good dusting , just waiting for a bit of cloud to lift to get a full glimpse, will look even better

when the late afternoon sun hits it. Will try to remember to get a photo.

In for some fun times in the next 24 hrs. Cyclone Dylan looking to cross the coast tomorrow morning at 7am about 50km south of our place. Got all the outside stuff packed away or tied down, food, water ,radio etc, so ready to sit back and watch the storm roll in!

Getting pretty blowy here now, only 40mm of rain so far, but latest forecast track is for it to hit about 100km south of us now. Actually a bit disappointed as it would have been interesting to experience a low category cyclone going over the top of us!

Anyway, will see what the early hours of tomorrow morning bring

Bit of a fizzer for us actually. Some good winds through the night, plenty of leaves and a few branches around the yard. But the system crossed a fair bit to the south of us, and looks to be sucking all the rain away with it.

Time for a bump of this thread. Amazing rainfall around Townsville at the moment. We will easily crack 500mm this arvo(yes, that is 1/2 a metre or 20 inches) over the last 3 days.

Forecast is for another 400mm and up to 1m of rain in isolated areas over the next week.

Road is cut north and south of Townsville and we are just loving this. Its been a good 8 or 9 years since we had a monsoon dump rain like this. The dam is going to spill over this arvo which is great as last year it got down to 13%.

So may as well make the most of it and get out amongst it! Most of our yard is underwater but house and shed will be fine. fba96ce26b12fda4f23e90f2e864d156.jpg8baa725dd181071d4599fe7c65700d30.jpg

This morning was crazy. We had 125mm in just over 1 hour. This was on top of saturated and full creeks and rivers. Now over 1.3m of rain in 5 days. We had water 10mm from coming in downstairs. Roads cut between us and town as well as south of us.

Army are forcing some evacuations in some suburbs of Townsville as the dam gates will probably be fully open tonight so levels are likely to rise even more. Dam is currently at 243% and still rising.
