Old Op's place Llandilo NSW

Recommended Posts

Ok, so who remembers Kev's place at Llandilo? If you do, you will also remember the ton of stuff he had lying around rusting away. I first met Kev back in the 80's when his main place of business was an old run down house at Llandilo where he stored, sold and repaired most of his stuff. Anyway, just before he moved out to Kingswood (where he is now) I decided to take a bunch of pictures as a keep sake of what the place was like. After all I had been going out to Llandilo for many years and thought having a few pictures of the place would be great to look back on. This was before digital cameras became the norm, but I finally got around to scanning these into my computer and thought I'd share these with the group.

The entrance to Kevs place was this old B/W driving game from the 70's

The place felt like a ghost town the weekend I was there.

The first shed attached to the house.

Inside the house where Kev did his repairs. A lot of stuff has already been moved out at this stage.

Can you guess what this machine once was?

One lone upright and old Pokies are all that remain. This room was once full of Vids for sale. Kev was a licenced dealer for old Pokies.

PCB's that have seen better days. This is the room that Kev stored and repaired his PCB's.

Back outside again. This was were most 3 piece Kaga chassis ended up. There use to be many more dumped here, but Kev did have a clean up a few years before.

One of the slapped together sheds full of stuff.

Note all the Atari AR boards lying on the ground.

So ends part 1.

Part 2.

Another shot of the same shed above. By the way, The Black Hole Pin looks better in the picture than it did in person. I slowly watched this Pin deteriorate over the years it sat here exposed to the elements. I wonder where it is now? In the background is a line of B/W monitors.

There use to be a bunch of dumped Cinematronics B/W vector monitors here (A few remain).

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/Scan0016.jpg

Anyone for a game of Space Invaders?

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/Scan0013.jpg

Another shed and more stuff slowly rotting away.

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/Scan0019.jpg

Anyone need a spare playfield?

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/Scan0020.jpg

http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z111/johnsarcade/Scan0018.jpg

Poor old Space Invaders. The head for this Pin was stored in the attached shed and wasn't in too bad condition (Considering).

One last shot.

So many games gone forever.

I think I went there back in the early 90's...dirt track off llandilo rd I think...or similar.

Did he also have a "display" shed with working units that were for sale. Still shabby and run down, but in better condition than the others.

Where I come from we call this abuse! Wouldn't mind walking through with a shopping trolley and stocking up on parts (if they work :lol ). If these were animals the RSPCA would be right onto it. :cry

Hi, fantastic photos!! I used to go to Kevs a fair bit in the 90s - I remember the goat he had in the front yard too!!

I bought a bunch of stuff from him over the years. Actualy I didnt know he moved, where did he go?

Does he have a web site? Is he Coin op Kev on ebay??(though nothing on ebay at moment)

I bought several pinballs from him, one was Jokerz but I never noticed the bottom display (player 3 and 4) not working, now I want to get it repaired but think the glass display is bung as the top display works and 100v powersupply is ok..

Would love to see Kevs new place before xmas.. please let me know where he moved to....

I am copying those pics for prosperity.. I wonder who bought the old place????:)

Great post. Funny though, I was at Kev's Kingswood site a few months back and it looks the same as these photos :lol. All be it with less machines around. Imagine the brown snakes in all those cabinets at Llandilo. Yikes!

You couldn't compare the 2 of them ;)

The place out at Llandilo was (I'm just lost for words) :)

Even though the attached pix show the carnage they don't fully describe the amount of sh*t over the entire property.

It was even worse than these photos show

I bet Kev still has heaps of stuff.. he had some NOS stuff for the Gottlieb arcade cabinet i have, i know there's more floating around in Sydney and was told bigtop bought them out but the guy from bigtop is kind of hard to deal with.
