Wurlitzer Bubbler CD 100 Rainbow

Question

Hi all,

Newby, just brought my first and only Jukebox. Wurlitzer Bubbler CD 100 New York. It is more complex that I initially thought. At first though I was concerned that it was broken. It does work but many of the CD’s do not work, very dusty inside. At the moment I am trying to clean it up and rework the CD’s. I downloaded a manual but is was a copy of x copies and could not make much out of it. So far it has great sound and all functions appear to work. I have pictures attached, hopefully you will be patient as I know nothing about this unit. Oh, by the way I am in the process of running down some leads on a collection of pinball machines, more later hopefully with details about the machines.

It is a New York, not a Rainbow.

Nice unit . Looks like it has a CDM 4 player, can you post a pic of the cd player pickup and carousel?. Good thing its working because that laser player is getting very hard to find. If you can find a spare laser head / player grab it.This was made when it was owned by an Aussie company Nelson Group ciggarette vending company. Wurlitzer GmBh or Gibson guitar site have manuals free to download for this and the F91 amp, this rainbow manual is easy to find I think its the same as the New York. Actually your juke is the New York not Rainbow but still similar internals . Flipper.com is a good site for information too Edited by hotty

I will get pictures later to verify CM 4 player. Not sure I will do much repair way over my head. I started out the day checking out a Pinball machine, somehow ended up with this. Yes it is a New York, my bad. Yes got a parts list very bad copy from Flipper, but somewhat useful. Hope to update lighting to LED, once it is clean up and CD's are checked out. I can' get over the awesome sound it can produce. Will also check out the Gibson site, thanks.

Apart from the CDM4 player the rest is basically the same as any other Wurlitzer CD jukebox. They all seem to have the same SCC unit, the differences is the Amps come in about 3 flavours and doesn't matter as they are a RCA plugs between the player and the amp. I must say the CDM 4 as obsolete as it is has stood the test of time and probably has had a longer life span than the CDM 12. You can always retro fit a CDM 12 into it if needed. Most components are modular. There are two guys named Rod Stebelton, and Charle Godwin in the States with a wealth of information who can supply you with Wurlitzer parts and info. Both have websites and are very helpful. Just search on the net you will find all manuals relating to this machine.
