Classic Stern Flipper Bat Part number

robm

Question

Calling @wiredoug or someone smarter than me.

I need 2 x flipper bats (or even just the plastic part that screws on top of the bat and shaft) for my Quicksilver. I ordered a part that was to fit "all classic sterns" and the shaft is way too narrow. I have chased around a few websites, and it sort of appears that part number A-193 might be correct....but i'm not sure as a few pages refer to part 1A-284, but this appears to be a different part.

RTBB has https://www.rtbb.com.au/product-tag/a-193/ but no details to confirm its the correct part, do any other local suppliers (or fellow users) have suitable parts, and am i chasing the correct part number?

Gottlieb, Bally and Stern 80s use the same sized bats.

So the bats will go on the shoes/shaft.

Stern use the plain Bally type but many sterns used the Gottlieb as well.

Rob - You can replace the entire assembly, since you already have the shoe and shaft ;

https://www.rtbb.com.au/product/full-left-flipper-assembly-used-on-classic-stern-machines-from-03-1980-to-02-1982/

We have more full assemblies with different coils on their way.

I have gottlieb full mechs on 2 of my sterns! Will buy some of them when you have them back!

Rob

I bought these complete assembly from Pinball Life as the old bases were not worth repairing holes stripped etc etc

I think RTBB May have them in stock again soon

As for the bats this is what I used

The flipper assemblys I put into Split Second and think I had to chuck a pair in the bottom set of Big Game. Too easy having the full assy in stock.

As far as the flipper bat full assembly, go with new shaft/shoe and separate bat.

The full assembly is angled and rubber works its way up not to mention sending balls into the glass.

The separate bat sides are straight up (parallel). Much better and original.
