11 gamers finished within 1 point of each other and 6 gamers finished 2 points from each other. That’s almost one third of the field in extremely close competition. More than half of the gamers were within a single digit of each other.

The very large numbers of PBs by gamers was excellent to see from all levels. Being a little pedantic and learning as much as you can, really can improve your skills, game play and scores.

There were 3 tied scores on the scoreboard. Salim Farhat and Foot both scored a total of 730 points. However Salim Farhat took out 13th place winning the head to head count 6 to 3, and Foot took out 14th place. Derek and megaderek both finished with 718 points. Derek won the head to head count 5 to 4 to take out 16th place and megaderek took out 17th place. SMK and syscrusher both finished with a total score of 100 points. SMK won Tetris and syscrusher won Popeye. Under the tied head to head count rule at one win each, it went down to total game points. SMK took out 48th place with 509,326 points vs syscrusher on 281,660 points who took out 49th place.

Derek Long achieved a new world record score of 1,541,160 points on Raiden in Game 7 of MGLXLI. This game was recently accepted at Twin Galaxies as the new official world record score. https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthread.php/211117

At the completion of this tournament, kane became the first and only player in MGL history to play all of the games in 29 x MGL tournaments. The record spans from MGL9 to MGL41, however not consecutively. The longest streak in MGL history belongs to RMacauley, from MGL14 to MGL41, that’s 28 consecutive MGL tournaments played without missing a game (243 straight games played). John73 is 3rd in the all games played list, with 25 x MGL tournaments.

Congratulations to Jason Vasiloff who won 1 game and scored in the 90s for all of the other games to win his 4th MGL title. He competed at a very high level of game play in all games to secure the win by just 9 points. And you guessed it, every point counts, no matter where you are on the scoreboard!

MGLXLI now goes into the record books for prosperity and for the future and current gamer generations to review. Every gamer who played in this time, will be remembered forever, into the future of the digital world. The MGL is the only true open, and toughest, video gaming championship in the world. MGLXLII starts on 29-Nov-2019. Be part of history.

I hope you all enjoyed MGLXLI. There is plenty more to come in season 2019. The Mystery Prize Draw will commence shortly.

:)

000, thank you for organizing and running the MGL. It was a lot of fun. A special shout out to creech, who gave me the details about playing in the MGL. creech: Thank you for all your help buddy, I really appreciate it! I was shooting for placing in the top half of the field, so to get a top 10 finish is quite a pleasant surprise. I just learned about CAG tournaments when I joined the DonkeyKongForum this year. This is now my second CAG event and I look forward to more in the future.

Congratulations to all competitors, it was a blast!
