Reproduction jukebox cabinets and manufacturing patterns.

Recommended Posts

I have for sale everything you need to manufacture reproduction jukebox cabinets in a style inspired by the Wurlitzer 1015.

You can install whatever mechanism, home theatre, stereo, Bluetooth etc selector and sound system you like.

The cabinets are full size and manufactured with quality materials - PETG thermoplastic, solid aluminium castings, timber veneered MDF and ply cabinetry, glass, and genuine Bakelite knobs that control the 12v lighting sequences.

The cabinets can be easily customised to incorporate a particular theme (see pictures for a KISS inspired example done by a fan for himself).

Included is:

*Two complete jukebox cabinets so you can see how they go together. One is operational with a surround sound system installed.

*Patterns to mould the PETG

*Patterns to mould all aluminium castings

*Boxes of globes, wiring, circuit boards, transformers

*Boxes of cabinetry components and manufacturing jigs

*Itemised list of each component and fitting necessary

*Advice and support setting up - I’m still interested in this but just don’t have the time!

This setup will save you literally months of full-time development. The current cabinet is third-generation so you benefit from many design improvements made along the way.

Asking price is $5500 ono the lot. I can’t sell the cabinets separately. Having assembled cabinets will be necessary for reference during manufacturing. Located in Albury NSW.

So far AA is the only place this is advertised. If I’ve had no interest in a week I’ll try some of the other sites.

I did this as a sideline many years ago but family and life took over. Time to make some room!

Can supply more photos and videos. Thanks for reading!

Please contact me to talk through the details.

Pete.

Hi Sparkaruss. It was certainly an interesting process bringing it all together. It was many years ago and I’m envious of the technology that is now readily available to support music playing and selection. Back then we were working with 50CD stackers and a suitable song selection interface was a challenge. I’d like to keep going with this but I’ve got four kids in high school taking up a lot of time and space! Thanks for posting.

How much do they retail for?

Hi Corones,

Previously we’ve sold them for around $3k to $6.5k depending on the configuration, which was set by the customer. This was around the time the Wurlitzer ‘One more time’ CD jukes were selling for around the $12k mark. More recently we sold a couple of bare cabinets for $1400ea, but that was using components we already had on hand and really just to reduce the gear sitting around. At this point it would be wise for the new owner to refresh the wholesale prices for all the components as it’s been ages since we got ours and there’s the possibility of using some different components. For example LED’s might be considered preferable rather than the 12v incandescent globes used previously. And touchscreens were only new when we started and could be incorporated much more cost effectively now.

As far as opportunities for sales goes, when we started the internet was brand new and not able to be exploited at all. We used to rely on going to events such as the Wintersun Rock and Roll festival in Tweed Heads for exposure and found it pretty easy to generate enquiries. Of course enquiries still have to be converted to sales! It was also relatively common for people to ask about purchasing just the Perspex which we were reluctant to do at the time but selling parts would be a possibility to complement sales. As with everything, the Web has changed the way we buy and sell.

Sorry for the slow reply, Corones, I was offline camping over Easter!

I hope you had a good holiday weekend and thanks for the post!

Peter.

Hi Everyone,

I've added one more photo of another style of cabinet that comes with this purchase. If you look closely, the front of this cabinet is entirely PETG (perspex) with a masonite overlay. This is the shape that comes out of the mould, and you can then either use it as a single piece or cut it into individual components that can then be used with a timber cabinet.

I'm keen to sell all this gear, so if anyone can put me onto a lead that ends up in a sale I'm prepared to pay a spotters fee of 10% of the sale price.

Have a great day!
