NBN FTTN experiences - Good, Bad, Ugly ?

Recommended Posts

We're finally getting NBN here next month (rural far south coast NSW) but the email update-alert just told me it will be FTTN only :(

I know there was an NBN thread on AA, but a search for "NBN" yielded 0 results :unsure

I've read online that FTTN means drops in speed depending on how far you are from the node, i'm interested in some real-world experiences from AA folk who have FTTN and what speeds they can get ?

It will make a diff to what plan we choose, no point going top tier when we may not get anywhere near the full speed capable.

At the moment we're using a 4G 200GB Optus plan which has been fine for the last year, we get a max of about 17Mbps which is fine for streaming and some downloading but it's useless if more than one person wants to download or stream at the same time... also data limit for 4G is still an issue.
