Benny
Buy at your own risk, there are plently listed on ebay, gumtree and fb marketplace.. You would actually be surprised how many people who want one, have no idea that they are in fact illegal, just keep that in mind.
wiredoug
people who want one also need to remember its *very* hard to find anyone willing to work on them when they break
Boots
Funny everyone is saying this, I was reading the paper on Saturday and graysonline I think it was had a bit in the auction section from past auctions and in it was a "one armed bandit" Almost seems to be a case of do what you want if you don't get caught with these things. Guy with a Pinball
Here in SA, you can't legally own one without a permit (and members of the public can't obtain a permit). Might be different interstate. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk

It makes my blood boil just thinking about do gooder politicians protecting the public from these "evil gambling devices". We need to change this so these beautiful vintage mechanical machines arent forgotten and lost forever. I wish I had a one armed bandit they are amazing how they work without electricity. hotty
Ask for a fruit machine, that should attract those in the know and wont flag key words that pick up on pokie, one arm bandits or slots.
tac44
I had and rebuilt many one arm bandits. Good fun in the cave with a few mates and a few beers.

Gemini2544
Can't see a 10 cent pokie being a problem. I mean these old machines are antiques.
Boots
I am sure that somebody having one in a games room / man cave would not end up with SWAT bashing down their door and dragging them off to prison. Every time you hear about somebody being busted it is when they have several and they are either directly using them for gambling or having big gambling parties on the same premises. By the same token if you are having loud parties and pissing off your neighbours you might expect the cops coming around.
Ballypinball
its fed police, not local, you can all think what you think doesn't matter how old or new the judge must enforce the law, companies pay millions a year for gaming licenses, even pachinko are illegal as well now, so are Bally Bingo 24 hole games. there is a collector permit on old ones permanently disabled, and they do inspections, if found they can be made working the fines are longer. a member here got done had a pinball listed on ebay and a poker machine in the backround, feds turned up with a warrant and seized the machine and it went to court
kimbleseven
Liquor and gaming is state govt ran department. I have heard from a very reliable source that: Liquor and gaming come to your door and demand you hand it over. If you say yes - no fine. If you say no - they will return with a warrant and you will get a fine / jail time. Then the machine goes into storage and then gets crushed and destroyed. The cost to destroy the machine is more than the value of the machine. Doesn't matter if it is a illegal treehouse casino, full on illegal gambling den or just a mancave. Ballypinball
we get a visit at least once a year or phone calls asking do we sell or fix them, and the 2 agents that come out are Canadian working for Vic gaming commission a guy in hallam got caught repairing and selling them after getting reported by a guy who bought one, several customer repairs got seized also we received many Pinball 2000 games converted to Gaming machines hidden in a RFM pinball, first thing we did was rip out the board etc and convert back to a pinball
