    Ultra Custom Cabs...

    Hi all,
We recently purchased a Stand up arcade machine from Ultra Custom Cabs.
Had the machine less then a week and already having issues with freezing and not running as you would expect it to.
Have contacted the seller, they have offered NO support.
I have only just seen now that there are a few bad reviews here.
Has anyone else had any issues and know of any way how to fix it?
    Feeling very cheated now.

They have bad reviews for a reason. Also despite a "disclaimer", they're selling a device with Arcade and Pinball IP without a licencing which IS illegal. I'd also ensure that the copy of Windows on your machine is licenced and legitimate just in case unless you're using the RPi version?

Unless you give more specific details to your problems no one here can help.

My advice would be to make a claim with whatever relevant fair trading ombudsman applies. These guys are pure assholes. They remove all negative feedback off their Facebook page and have even threatened the owner of this website with legal action due to a negative thread about them.

As a customer, you have a right to complain for not providing a warranty on a newly bought product. Someone needs to start the process of ensuring these guys get their comeuppance for providing no after market support on what is already an illegal product.

And leave a review about them on productreview.com.au so others might be spared having to deal with them

Welcome to the world of owning an Ultra Custom Cab
Mine freezes all the time certain games blank the machine so you have to turn it of at the power point pinball games don’t load...but don’t worry there’s no customer support...
It’s your fault your doing something wrong blah blah blah..
I’ve just learnt to live with it and just not load certain games..
Oh don’t forget they have no warranty on the software
If it had no software you wouldn’t buy the machine....

The problem with all these mame machines loaded with "10,000" games is that on any system, not all mame games run. I think it is really dumb that anyone would sell an arcade machine advertising so many games as working. Any type of pc/pi based system is normally going to require some sort of tweak at some point but then it is hard for the user to fix without knowing how all the emulators, frontend etc are setup. These days I actually prefer single game or single system cabs. Just makes them simpler and forces the user to play the one game or small list of games that are known to work well on that cab.

It's a shame that these companies just ghost their customers once they've gotten their money. They would be better off severely limiting the number of games on the machine or using a basic jamma board instead - something the end user could unplug and ship back for a swap over it it ever died. But then they can't advertise their "1Million games system"!!

Hopefully someone local can help you.

As was stated in the last thread about this. It's damn easy to filter Mame etc to ONLY working games using a rom auditing tool. The fact that this company has never bothered to learn this is rediculous.
