Creature from the black lagoon sound issues

marty69

Question

Hi all, has anyone experienced issues with their sound fading in and out while playing a game? Sometimes it disappears altogether for a few seconds.

No issues in attract mode , end of game or test mode .

I’m told it may possibly be the U14,15 and 18 sound chips on the sound board ?

I’ve tried resetting the ribbon cables as well.

Thanks in advance

Martin

I can highly recommend buying one of these for your Creech .. it transforms the game :)

https://www.pinsound.org/shop/index.php?id_product=44&controller=product&id_lang=1

Ive played a Sydney members Creech with this board but the old, original speakers themselves on that game let it down. If I was going to do it I'd be fitting a later speaker kit mod.

Hi , if I understand correctly, this board will replace the whole original sound board and provide much better output , clarity etc,

Just need to load the sound bites onto the USB , good to go ?

@Railways Agree Jeff ... you definitely should do a speaker upgrade if you invest in a Pinsound board for sure

Hi mate . Yes but as Jeff suggests its well worth upgrading the speakers if they are still original .

I also rewired mine for stereo sound when I installed the Pinsound board .. I just bought their stereo cabling kit along with the board .

The big advantage of Pinsound is you have a customised sound track of full songs , not just partial songs like the original roms

Cheers

Dave

This is all well and good but OP should investigate the problem with the original board first. This could potentially be a $1 component fix...

Hi, just played another game, it’s worth mentioning that when the sound fades during the game , the volume setting is quite low , say on 6-8 setting .

If I crank it up mid game to 9 or 10 or above the sound comes back normally .

May be an amplifier issue?
