Latest Em arcade additions

Recommended Posts

Just checking out your collection again Dan and there are some real treasures there. You have a very good eye for pieces.

At that auction I mentioned at the showgrounds in 1985 there were around five Par 5 penny flickers and a few Skyjump or similar games. There were plenty of older arcade pieces and many pins and videos. We bought an upright Space Invaders for $60, they had about 8 of them. My brother still owns it. The other prices were like that too with most EM pinballs going for $100.

The Seeburg Coon Hunt is a real find and a land mark shooting game. That game with its ray gun style pre-dated most large floor standing gun games. I love ball bowlers and to find locally operated ones is very tough. I never saw one on location, but heard there were a few in QLD years ago.

A Midway Chopper was on site at Mutual Bowl under Flinders St Melbourne, this later became Invaders after the bowling alley closed. In the 70s Mutual was the best large place for arcade games in Melbourne. Southern Cross Bowl had lots of interesting stuff too and both had Chopper games, numerous rifles like Chicago Coin Coney Island and Shoot Out, Midway guns, Kasco guns, Speed King Driver etc etc There was another arcade on Spring St Melbourne in the Electro mechanical era with a lot of good stuff too. The machines in this Spring St arcade and all the AMF bowling alleys were supplied by California Enterprises. We bought lots of machines from them and later bought out complete locations from them including the sited pinballs, jukes & videos when they were winding down.

I like your taste in pinballs too, Strikes & Spares is one of the best and we still have one.

I look forward to your restorations and next finds.

Thanks mate appreciate it. And love hearing about machines on location I'm still hoping to get photos of some of my games from back in the day when they were in location

Knocked up a temporary cabinet today for the trashed playfield. So many missing parts to track down or make to finish properly so this cabinet is just to get it off the bench. So yes it doesn't match the original door yes it would look better stained http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161230/7d8fa4bdc60a904aef4f2120cddac0d6.jpghttps://vimeo.com/197493490

yet another awesome piece in your your collection......lucky man Dan! just reading I noticed the term 'penny flickers' mentioned by @Chicago, I call them win-ezy's, I am curious as to what other people know them by and their 'correct' title, if they have one?

Rich, in the UK they call them Allwins. Not sure what the correct term is but heard older operators here refer to them as Penny Flickers. I understood that to mean any wall-mounted spiral type game that were cheap to play (a penny) and where you flicked the ball into a spiral or vertical pinboard for points.

They had them on the walls of the Luna Park Melbourne Giggle Palace. I recall some on the passage way into the Giggle Palace near the vibrator plates, rope obstacle and blowers.

Do you plan on stocking it? Is it fully working? I imagine kids would be really into it if there is a chance for chocolate.

Could be brought back to compete with claw/chocolate factory machines I reckon. At least this looks fun.

There used to be one of these on the wall at the Centralia Hotel, now demolished, on North Tce, Adelaide. It was a bowling theme with skittles in the centre, 5c a go. Can't find an image of it.

I'm pretty sure I know the game your talking about a friend has one I'll try get a photo of it

The prowler express arrived early woo hooo got the old girl unwrapped very slowly as my necks completely stuffed game needs a little bit of loving to get it back to working condition but over all very happy. Won't be getting a restore just a clean up.

As for your question Rich yes the nestle is original

And Redfern if I can get chocolates the right size I'll fit keep some in there.

I'm wrapped it's still set for pennies which is unusual lots of these games were converted to modern currency in 66 so I'm assuming this one has been out of public service for a long long time

The monkey needs lots and lots of love it's had plenty of fingers in there over the years and lots of seized and bent parts but it will love again.
