bigredbird
That looks brand new. About 1978-9? Yes, it is in very good condition. My guess would also be late 70s. There is no year on the product or manual.
darkjedi
One not so retro, but for retro stuff: An OSSC + Audio upgrade board! And the other genuinely retro (and utterly filthy!): A Macintosh Classic:
mckie1
Have heard good things about the ossc :) We primarily use mini-framemeisters but would love to see the differences between the two one day
djgra79
OOh an old Mac. I used to own an Amstrad 1512 with a 20MB HDD. It was my grandparents and I used to love playing DOS games on the CGA screen during school holidays. I have most games as ROMs now, but there's nothing like the original machine. I sold it on eBay years ago for a pittance - I wish I held onto it and could have found someone to fix it.

And the other genuinely retro (and utterly filthy!): A Macintosh Classic: Does the Mac work? I have two and both have battery and leaking capacitor corrosion on the main board? I've got another board on its way but it's untested. I had the same problem with a Mac LC too. darkjedi
I believe it works, but grey screens. Yet to get a good look at it! Yesterday was a good day. Travelled north to play Pinball at a mate's place, and also got a small haul of awesome in the process from my travels. Amiga 1200 and games aren't for me (sadly!!!), but the rest is. Not pictured: cheap copy of outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast on Xbox & some giant 90s style PC Speakers for my 3DO Blaster setup. Also a MISB copy of Muppet Babies on Betamax! alessiman
I picked up a Mega CD 2 and Megadrive 1 Combination this evening. All up it cost me about $270 shipped from the netherlands Anyway I already had a mint condition Megadrive 2 so I swapped out the Megadrive 1 for the Megadrive 2 (mainly so i fits into my display cabinet) The only issue now i have a bunch of left over parts and and a missing expansion port :( I have always wanted a Mega CD for my collection and think i got one at a great price
darkjedi
Whilst the Mega-CD1 is arguably the better looking of the two units, I prefer the MCD2 for actual usage. Combine it with an Everdrive/All-Region cart and playing copied games cuts down on the hassle of finding cheap MCD games too!

There is a special BIOS chip you can throw in them for that
darkjedi
True. And given I have zero stress with screwing with my own hardware, I should probably look into it :)
NEO-GEO Man
True. And given I have zero stress with screwing with my own hardware, I should probably look into it :) My MCD1 has a factory socketed BIOS so i did my tests there, and i was impressed. So i went through and socketed both my MCD2s as well. Its great, you can make the splash screen show up any version you want it to, and they will run everything you throw in there regardless of region. darkjedi
Mine was dead for years waiting for me to learn how to solder. Was one of the first things I fixed once I'd gotten my confidence with an iron built up!

Frank_fjs
I sold my Mega CD 2 as well and replaced with a model 1 version. Very happy with the model 1 but wish I had kept the model 2 as a backup. Will need to check if it has a socketed bios...
narf_
Thank god for the Salvos eh? Yeah mines usually hit and miss We have 2 but one operates as a seperate depot and find old games and consoles at reasonable prices compared to the other town one with profits in mind Dropped in the town one and seen this up on the shelf. Every now and then spot a game that slips under the crazy pricing people

darkjedi
I've had a quiet one the last few weeks, but the last 5 days have effectively reversed that in a massive way. Here's haul #1 . Sadly the PET wasn't for me.
