I think there is still something else missing like a coin chute gizmo perhaps? I will look at your photos to double check. goodolddays
Had another look at my Eldorado. Yours is missing the 1st coin adjustment but mine has nothing in that area where those 4 screw holes are. Maybe it had a stepdown tranny there in the past? Have emailed you another pic of that area. kimbleseven
Forgive my lack of knowledge. If I'm missing the 1st coin chute stepper will I still be able to start a game with a coin mech? I like to have the mechs there at 20cents 1 play. kimbleseven
I have given the bottom panel a scrub. I want to make up new labels for the relays and fuses. kimbleseven
Thanks Rob. I found Peter had included the labels for the relays under "hot shot" I will just use mspaint to edit and rearrange the order of them as needed. kimbleseven
I am also trying to remove the wheel from the score motor shaft. I have removed the bolt that holds it onto the shaft but I think there is a burr stopping me pulling it off. Should i force it off or is there a trick to this? Sent from my AGM A8 using Tapatalk Why are you mucking with the score motor ? I would recommend giving it a few drops of oil and other than that leave it unless there is something wrong with it because if you end up getting things out of whack it may never work again
Rich
Guessing you are referring to the cam wheel? This is from an El Dorado. If that bolt has been tightened well, it may have forced the end of the allen key screw into the shaft forcing some of the shaft metal out which is catching onto the cam wheel. It is a tricky removal in the sense of pulling back all the cam following blades as you pull upwards on the cam, not wanting to bend any of the contacts. Take pics of all the removable black cam followers that can be removed as they are for short and long timing. If one should fall out it must go back in the same slot it came out from. According to Gottlieb the only part recommended to be oiled is the base of the shaft. I am also trying to remove the wheel from the score motor shaft. kimbleseven
I wanted to pull it off to clean it. But I may just turn it upside down and dip it in something instead or give it a scrub. Everything is dirty... Rich
It is so much easier to clean the contacts whilst the cam wheel is off. It also gives you peace of mind knowing they are all done. Or if your an Iron Maiden fan it will give you Piece Of Mind :D You mention it being 'stuck'. Try holding the gears underneath gently with your fingers and then rotating the cam wheel left to right, I reckon you will be able to do it. Maybe a couple drops of lubricant on the flat of the shaft at the top so it can work its way down to where its gripping? The pics I posted are from an El Dorado that belongs to @Budgie so if you have any questions like wanting pics of the coil/relay names, fuse ratings etc. for reprinting....he's the fella to ask. kimbleseven
Still cleaning the bottom panel. Also cleaning scorereels and ballcount unit. The ballcount is very worn on the rivets. Sent from my AGM A8 using Tapatalk
kimbleseven
Scorereels have a normally closed contact that opens mechanically when the plunger is up. The rivet is missing/worn on 3 of the 4 scorereels. ??? Sent from my AGM A8 using Tapatalk
Budgie
Gottlieb El Dorado Yes those rivets can most definitely become worn out and not making a good contact. It’s a bugger to get the correct rivets to replace them with. Also that white plastic piece connecting to the plunger can need replacing as it did on my el dorado @Richpinball Get some coil stops as well order extras cause you’ll need them. Budgie
Those armature plungers connected to the score reel white plastic funnily enough can also be quite worn around where they are attached. Check all those plungers for wear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
kimbleseven
Scorereels all cleaned up and adjusted. May replace the actual reels as they are yellowed and faded. Scoremotor cleaned up a bit better and some metal bits cleaned. Need to remove everything and clean the timber properly.
