Looks great mate, want to build one myself some day.

Where is the best place to get the coin door and mechs from?

Someone on here was producing replicas at one point, but I just sourced mine from the US on KLOV. Coin mechs.. Just depends if you want originals or generic old school ones that take 20c coins..

Thanks mate. Klov forum usually this stuff pops up there, I went with replicas though, coin door from arcadeshop.com and coin mechs from mike's arcade (takes quarters)

Not much progress in the last week as being on nightshift at work kills any kind of me time but thismorning started to tinker with the monitor and position in the cab, looks pretty right, might just need to raise the top a fraction to get abit more angle.

Also got the marquee light in.

Progress stopped when I had a parcel to collect from the post and it was from the man Richie knuckelz himself, a one of a kind Kong off jumper from the first Kong off along with signed twin galaxies cards and a signed marquee for my build.

@-Slayer- this is coming along great. It looks totally awesome. I like how you make the use of your time using evey spare second when the children are occupied or sleeping......lol

Great work.

Thanks heaps mate.

Yeah it's the only way I can do it, juggling kids and rotating shifts at work doesn't leave me much time, pretty much have to wait for every third week when I am on day shift and get up at 4am and get a couple of hours in before I get ready for work lol.

I have to hand it to you. Definitely dedicated. I hope you get great satisfaction and a lot of enjoyment from this when it's finished. All the extra effort you have put in is definitely worth it and it shows.

Cheers mate, thanks heaps. I'm so happy with the results and can't wait to be playing it, it's killing me but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now :)

Oh and I'll still be getting up at 4am on day shifts just to play it.

Early morning Saturday project was getting the side art on, first attempt ended up in a ball on the ground, note to self: "don't use roller to apply"

second time was much better just using a cloth to rub down and credit card

That looks awesome!! Was good watching it come along, A bit off topic there is a DK in bartronica does anyone know where that would had come from ?

Bartronica dk would have been imported from the states originally at some point as they never came out here

It’s not that old it would be a remake just didn’t know if someone was making them for sale or it was built at home like this one

Pretty sure it's a genuine dk they have, probably been well looked after or restored at some point. I was thinking of making them up for sale one day, but they wouldn't have original board or CRT, both are getting harder to find

After building one I contemplated making more to sell, but the cost doesn't justify it in my opinion. I made mine as accurate as possible to the original. it had either original parts or replica parts form Mikes but it nearly cost $2k. Yes I could save money by getting more cut in bulk on the CNC etc.. But putting LCD's and a Raspberry Pi in, is not something I would have been keen on doing.

This was my one - http://pellysarcade.com/dk-build.html

Yeah that is true, this build has set me back a good $2000 so to make n sell you would want like $3000 for all the time spent etc, this is something I don't have right now lol. Plus not sure if the markets really here

probably should chuck up some measurements for anyone wanted to do the same in the future.

artrwork should be 4.75" (120.65mm) from top not including t-molding and from rear of cab to side of art work should be 2.25" (57.15mm)

Rigged up the marquee light also

Also started on my jamma harness, removed the original power cable and installed a decent sized one that won't fail my old school pcb :)

Just a small different in size, original cable on right new one left. These jamma power cables may look nice n thick but it's just pvc and not copper

Then it was time to get that pcb into place

_20180208_063140.thumb.jpg.9d5c962fd6fd2b5835e0548871f7086e.jpg

Neaten up the jamma harness into groups

_20180208_063159.thumb.jpg.64805355b8da04d973d5807add7df078.jpg

Then it was onto hooking up the harness through out the cab, this was all very new to me (the whole project was really) so I took my time and triple checked my work.
