Looking at your first pixs I noticed your missing a CEN-u45 tranny on the driver board. If you can't find one I use a TIP102 tranny back to front with the legs wires crossed. Not as neat but a hardy replacement tranny easily obtainable.

Ah is that what that little thing is. I found it in the backbox loose. What does it do? The game played fine unless that happened while disassembling. I will bag the loose part and store with the card. Thanks mate.

It's transistor Q2 for the Tilt relay. These CEN-u45 tranny's are very difficult to get & are expensive but the TIP102 are plentiful & cheap.

Finished stripping out the cabinet today. Also replaced the T-nut bracket with a new one. The plastic that the playfield glass slides into is broken in some sections. I have researched and found i can use black stern plastics as a substitute. I know black isnt the original almond colour but it will have to do. Pbr part #545-5017-00

Need to select my paint colours. After seeing pinball pimps restoration on a joker poker on his website i have changed my mind on a few things. Rustoleum have a great black which was good on centigrade. With the red i dont like rustoleums cherry colour as its not pack of cards red... so still undecided what red to use. Bunnings / rustoleum dont have much colour range at all so looking at the montana black brand. For the white i have decided to use rustoleum blossum white this time. This is a bright new looking white rather than the heirloom white i used on centigrade. I still prefer the heirloom on EMs. Each to their own. So just need to find a good red paint...3302b938516b2fdd88edac2625712a87.jpg574f448296fef277dc0665edda85c85c.jpg2419f8d2c31fe080e55da29c9ed308da.jpga4a4b9255cadf2405187ba7aa9a35374.jpg

Use these. There’s no magic they’re just glide nails

Cabinet repairs today. Under the cab one side of the timber is missing pieces and is weak. The chipboard is not supported at all. Im gonna head to bunnings and get some pine to try and repair.

Has anyone got any suggestions on how i can strengthen the chipboard? Or should i put a whole new strip or whole piece of pine underneath? Any help is much appreciated.3a103b515228c7210cd4cf56a9ad00c3.jpga7b07c29073f97ad1bfda767f08b558c.jpg97656bf0034b7e09534621ae97277296.jpg

I am fixing up a Meteor cab with the same issue. Mine was pretty bad so replaced all of the plywood lip on the base with some oak moulding. They have a fair range at Bunnings so you should get one that fits. I also have a bit of timber rot so using wood hardner in spots to save replacing entire panels.

@robm has had extensive experience replacing bases out with some of his barn finds that look like they have been a submariner. Just a thought.

Its prob easier to replace the whole lot. I personally have not worried about putting a strip underneath the base, as i doubt it will form much or a structural purpose - its does look a little nicer, however when i've replaced bases, i screw up from underneath in each of the corners, and any areas where there is a support brace along the sides or across the width of the base, as well as put liquid nails. I normally leave it upside down for a day or so to set.

I have tried to match the ply pieces under the cabinet to keep it looking original. I bought a 9mm sheet as suggested by a few members. But i can't get it looking good. May need to buy a router. Also repaired and filled some of the sanded cabinet today but lots to do still...
