madal
I have had a very troublesome game board with The CPU check saying ROM is bad. After a light sand ther good as gold.then the next ROM will show as bad. Is there any liquid cleaner I sit the ROM legs into instead of useing sandpaper? 0 swine hoont
I don’t know if this will help but I have used good quality Machined Pin IC Sockets that are a really tight fit and used them as a permanent sandwich (round pined and round hole type). Socket in a socket, the round pin into a slotted socket makes a really tight connection. Lazy hack for a few dollars.

But in this case its Moral Kombat 2 board set with well over 22 ROM's Just the ROM legs need cleaning the seats are good as. As noted above the glass fibre pen looks to be the go. Really dont wont to be replacing those seat unless it's needed.

0 wyldcat34
You can get a glass fibre pen for polishing contacts from jaycar. Thanks Womble!! I got one the other day and was sceptical, however after getting a Rygar and a Tutankhaman board back from no display from cleaning legs and checking ROMS....I am a happy camper and grateful for the info! Cheers!
0 Johns-Arcade
Damn, that's expensive! https://www.frys.com/product/2581741 So $6.59US for the Pen (8.92AU), another $20US shipping, give or take a few dollars ($27.06AU), GST (Around $3.60AU), Paypal fees, etc, so now this pen cost over $40AU. Welcome to Australia, the country where you get ****ed in the arse no matter what you buy! Another example of the cost disparity we have in this country compared to the USA. Regards, Johns-Arcade. 0 Tangles
I use these from Element14. (I usually have no trouble making the $45 free freight which may catch you) http://au.element14.com/duratool/d02266/pen-pcb-cleaning-fibreglass-4mm/dp/210202801 I note a similar item on RS (free freight any order size) is a bit more expensive. https://au.rs-online.com/web/p/pcb-cleaning-brushes/0514868/
