  1. For those of us lucky enough to own a working Vectrex.... This thing is fantastic.... way cheaper (and can still be bought) than the VecFever, and allows you to play Vectrex roms on your Vectrex, and lots of other stuff. I've been living with a multicart for years for my console, but this thing is just next-level. It basically is an interface cartridge that allows you to add A Pi Zero as the engine for your Vectrex, allowing you to do things on your true vector monitor that you previously only dreamed about. (Say play Arcade rom versions of Battlezone, And Empire Strikes back...) The PiTrex is Australian made by Ombertech in Victoria. http://www.ombertech.com [I am in no way afilliated with Ombertech... just think Kevin's work is brilliant for the Vectrex] Here is a video from youtube showing Battlezone played on Vectrex via PiTrex, this user created his own controls using a pair of Atari 2600 sticks, and made his own overlay. Just GREAT !
  2. For fans of VR and Half Life. If you've completed (the honestly brilliant, and one of my GOAT games on any platform, any era) Half Life Alyx, and still hankering for more in the world of the Combine, then you could do a lot worse than the just-released-today VR mod for Half-Life 2. The mod converts the original base game of Half Life 2 to VR, with full motion controls, everything, Full immersion in the Half Life Universe as Gordon Freeman. It's Open Beta and early access. You need to own the base Half-Life 2 game on steam, and the community-made mod is FREE. And it's absolutely brilliant. The Devs roadmap includes converting Episode 1 + 2 to VR as well in time. https://store.steampowered.com/app/658920/HalfLife_2_VR_Mod/ Some of the most fun experiences in VR are community-made mods of existing games - such as "The Outer Rim" mod for the psychopathically fantastic Blade and Sorcery. The Outer Rim is a full Star Wars conversion for Blade and Sorcery, and if you haven't lived out your wildest fantasies as a lightsaber / blaster wielding madman running amok in VR, then I totally reccomend it. But it is not for the squeamish, sensitive, or easily offended, and you might find yourself a little disturbed at what you are capable of as a Jedi given total and free reign to do - whatever you want. https://www.nexusmods.com/bladeandsorcery/mods/528
  3. Great game, the lower playfield is a love/hate thing though.. soon as you sort out how to keep the ball alive down there, it's not too hard to keep opening the top gate to save your ball. On a related note - the late Stephen Hawking said there was a black hole at the beginning of time, and a black hole at the end of time, and that time / history bounces back and forth between them. Ponderous, huh ?
  4. bit better, don't know if i will get to improve on this or not. 164,010
  5. Great score and well done Mozzie. I tried a few more times, but couldn't get past 2M again. I love this game though ! Emporer Ling ? Sounds fishy to me
  6. Yep roughly what happened, got it up to 5x and 1xEB , I think only 1 per game is possible?
  7. 2,464,170 Close but no cigar.
  8. Never heard of this EM. Had a couple of games, it kicked my arse. but I enjoyed it ! Ripping Spinners all day should enjoy this I think 51,570
  9. 927,430 More work needed. Great score Mozzie!
  10. Anyone using a Quest 2 and Airlink with VPVR ? After 18 months of serving my apprenticeship in VR thinking about offloading my Rift S and going wireless. No idea why this is a voting thing I didn't want that. Have not been on AA for a while and everything is different 😆
  11. 187,640 Almost every ball lost to the left outlane, arrrrgh ! This table is a nudge-fest, just keep it away from those outlanes soon as it gets underside of the bumpers it's nerve wracking A long way from my best on this but will have to do for now was really hoping for 200k at least. Couldn't figure out how to enter initials, flipper to choose, what enters ? Tried most things. Newly installed VP on a different PC, so I'm going from scratch again. Glad people are enjoying it. Such a classic of VP from it's early days in earlier versions of VP where it was also a standout... it's held up all this time
  12. I've upgraded to 10.7 and games are fine but I can't get this game running due to FlexDMD errors.
  13. An Obscure body in the SK system, your majesty. The inhabitants refer to it as the planet..... Earrrrth. Great Movie, great Pinball, great soundtrack from the mighty Queen. What more do you want ?
  14. Yeah, from the date on the VP file, I last updated VP in March 2021 I'll grab those files thanks @RusstyT and start messing about soonish. Happy to hear Deadpool is in VR 👍I know Abra ca Dabra is too
  15. Awesome. Love this game. A mate of mine had a real Abra Ca Dabra for a while, such a classic EM (when it was working properly, lol)
  16. I've been away since the comp started but back home now so I'll try to get 10.7 sorted out on my laptop. I've not updated VP for so long I'm kinda dreading the process Hopefully it will run OK. Wonder if there is a VR version of this... I emailed another old player @MrBungle and invited him to the comp.
  17. Amazing to see how far the MGL has come from it's early days when there was probably 10 or less of us playing now and then! And I think a couple still playing who were there at the very start ? All credit to the enthusiastic, encouraging energy of @OOO in promoting classic comp gaming. AA is lucky to have this man !
  18. Just looking for suggestions for a Barcade competition i am thinking about running here on the South Coast of NSW once the virus restrictions lay off. (Location to be decided, but I'm looking at hosting at a Bar or Brewery) Looking for ideas on selection for 6 great, fun games for single player competition play, high-score based competition with a finals series of head to head playoffs. Thanks, Jed
  19. Hey mate, VR nowawdays is unbelievable. There are so many great games, for me it's where gaming is at now on PC. It's just so different to anything else, you really are in the game, not just looking at it. I've had gaming moments in VR that just bliss me out completely. I've not felt that kind of thing since the early days of Arcades ! And yeah pinball. VPX in VR is insanely good. It just looks and feels so real ! The tables really come to life in a full 3 dimensional space, like you are standing in front of the actual game. It really is crazy how good it is!
  20. orright back for this one noms are in, hoping to be able to play most games in VPX-VR. except for the obscurely bad EM tables that regularly get nominated for two weeks of torture
  21. In case anyone else is a fan of amazing celestial happenings, here's a few pics I took of the recent Perigee / Blood moon. The last two are of eclipse totality - the beautiful Blood Moon
  22. never played a real one before, but played the VP version heaps. the first game on the real STTNG managed 1B just from learning the game on VP But at Pinfest I've been smashed by the real versions of games I think myself pretty good at in VP... the shortest game ever at Pinfest was on that ridiculously hard Capersville. walked away quickly from that machine :lol
  23. Yes me too :cryat the moment due to techmallogickal issues i don't have a PC that can handle VP. I hope to have it all ship-shape and jump back in for the second half of the comp though. Bummed i missed playing STTNG. The only time i ever played a real one was at Pizza and Pinball in Newcastle in the back room about 5 years back.
  24. Love Radiohead and Father Ted but they do have this effect on me sometimes too :lol [video=youtube_share;5-ManI1H9vA]
