After further investigation it appears that pins 7 and 8 should have continuity from front to back throught the holes from the fuses f109 and f110 and dont.
You can see that the track for pin 11 is broken, hence why the jumps had been put in place.
I didnt want to put in more jumpers but i guess i will need to fix the problem with pins 7&8 to the fuse.
Any assistance appreciated.
I am not happy with the state of this board as there are various other hacks and repairs and i think i will look for a replacement board as a more permanent fix.
Thank you to everyone that has given input so far as this has been a great resource of info and assistance :)
Looks like i will pull the board out tomorrow and do some more checks.
Thanks again for everyone assistance so far.
When i took off the connector from the board there was a burnt section at #1 pin on the board. Should there be a circuit from the back of the board, through the hole and then to the to the front of the board?
All i did was replace the connector and check for a compete circuit from the back of the board were i soldered to the pin on the connector.
I ended up leaving the jumpers (accept the second to end #10 ) as the tracks were damaged and not connected once i removed them.
I have now put it all back together, only to find that the left side playfield G.I. not working when plugged into j120 or j121
I replaced the bridge rectifier that was dangling by cables and wondered if this can affect G.I. ?
I have now bought all the parts i think i need to do the repairs, a solder station, wick, solder sucker, IDC connectors, header pins and insertion tool and a bridge rectifier :) but am missing 1 thing..... some wire.
What size wiring was used in these pinballs and is there a better type of wire to use to extend the wires so they will reach the IDC connector?
Once i buy the wire then will have a go at my first board repair.
I was wondering if someone would be able to put up a step by step for a noob (like me) to put this image on a spare hard drive.
I have been trying to use True Image 2013 but haven't been successful yet, any assistance appreciated.
Thanks for your input and i appreciate your suggestions (and may need some help when i start this repair ;))
By country SA i should of said rural SA and dont have easy access to spare part. so i need to order stuff in and that is why i was trying to narrow down the issues so i know what to order.
I am starting to make a shopping list of thing to order :) and i will try and get as many spares as i think i will need.
This is my first pin and i love it, and plan to keep it for a long time so i will clean and fix this machine properly to make it reliable and enjoyable for the family.
I think i will try what you said just to try and find where the fault is. As i plan to fix this properly i want to know what repairs need to be done and not just fix 1 plug to reinstall and find the problem still exists.
I am in country S.A. and dont have immediate access to all the plugs and pins etc so i want to know all problems that exist so i can order it all and do the job once.
