Hi guys, It's been a while since i've posted, but it's like coming home when I am on this site. I scooped up a taito cocktail cabinet that I am told contains an original Space Invaders board. I have NEVER turned it on as it may need a recap and I don't want to be the one to blow it up, however I reckon with a good clean this thing will sing. I bought it around 10 years ago to restore and make into a mame or a 60-in-1 but I never got around to doing it and also I didn't want to start carving up the control panel because it is pretty much un-touched since it came out of the De-Lorean Time Machine, so I will throw in a 60-in-1 Jamma board to the lucky buyer. It owes me $500 so if I could re-coup my costs, i'd be happy with that and you'd get to take this beauty home. But seriously, It's taking up space and if it goes to a loving home I will take a decent offer. It's currently buried deep in my shed so no pics but I plan on digging it out this weekend. Call any time on 0422 869 464 or TXT on Sundays (work phone) if you are interested. Cheers George.

It's an Aissie unit of measurement that saves all that mucking about with decimal places. -
Tips for building a wicked cabinet.
biggeorge replied to biggeorge's question in Arcade Technical and Repair
Not true. You do them up with 1/2" self tappers, and you don't have to be a gorilla about it. You don't even have to nip them up. You are just holding the thing in place, not bolting it down for the next apocalypse. Just do them up to the point where the screw head touches the hole in the motherboard, and then back it off 1/4 of a turn. There is absolutely ZERO stress on the board. Same goes for the iPac, just screw it to the wood and before the screw head pulls on the circuit board, STOP, and back it off 1 Cun-tair. -
Hankin style Flat-Pack MDF Cocktail Cabinets X 4
biggeorge replied to biggeorge's topic in For Sale - Arcade
Cost me - $1250 1/5th is damaged - Now Worth $1000 Fair price i'm offering - $800 I will entertain bids, as i've lost my Arcade Mojo years ago and just want to pass them on to someone who will enjoy finishing the project I never started. Phone 0448 701 847. Would anyone be interested in buying an assembled one instead of flat? -
Hi AA'ers. Once again, I have been cleaning up after moving house once again...... And I have decided that These Have To Go. I am sick of moving them every time I move house, and it's been going on 7+ years now I've been storing these cabinets and NEVER put one together. What I have is 5x Hankin cloneed cabinets cut out of MDF, each piece has been meticulously copied from a disassembled genuine Hankin Cabinet, the type that were made to take a 20-21" CRT. These cost me $1250 at the time, which averages out to $250 a cabinet. However, I have moved house 5 times since I got these, saved from a bushfire in 2013 (At great expense and effort mind you), and during the move I would be upfront in saying that some components of 1 of the cabinets has been damaged. So there is enough cut-out cabinet parts to make 4 good ones, and 3/4 of one with 1/4 damaged components. If you were handy with a router and a copy-cutter router bit, you could construct the replacement parts and construct all 5 cabinets. I have 2 metal control panels which you could use as templates to give to ANY sheet metal fabricator to copy / clone enough to finish off 4 cabinets. Since one of them is essentially stuffed in my opinion, $1000 would be A fair price for all 4, However if you come this weekend i'd take $800 for the lot and I will give you all the pieces of the 5th one to either take a crack at re-cloning the damaged parts of the 5th, or as spares for any fk'ups you make on the other 4 as you construct them. They do not come with any electronics, glass or hardware. These are just MDF clones of the cabinet pieces, plus the 2x abovementioned metal control panels I am located in Springwood in the Blue Mountains, and the parts could all fit into the back of a car, 4WD or wagon for transport as I have made NO attempt at putting any of them together. From Sydney, it's a 45minute shot straight up the M4 and you're here. My contact number is 0448 701 847. Or PM me your offer along with your name. The first one with the highest offer gets it.

I have for sale a Taito Cocktail Cabinet, or what I believe to be a Taito cab. It looks like it was a Japanese Space Invaders from the early 80's. It appears to have a Jamma harness in it, but to be honest I have never plugged it in or turned it on. It has a 14" screen installed. The buttons are Metal, which i've never seen before! The cabinet is in "Original" Condition as I have made no attempt to restore it. It was bought, stored, and I never got time to do anything with it. I also have a selection of boards for sale if you are interested in a bulk purchase. Asking $600 for the cabinet, $1000 for the cab, boards and other misc bits and bobs. I won't bullshit you, this is a restoration project, as you can see there are scuffs and padlocks on it so it is not quite ready for the games room without you needing to do a little work. Pickup Only from Springwood NSW 2777 Call or SMS me on 0422 869 464. First in, First dibs. Price is neg, but I will take the highest offer.

Give Bammer Specialty Company a call, they are at 639 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA. The should have all the parts you'd need to get this unit going again.

I just found a game similar to "Choplifter" called "Fort Apocalypse" by Steve Hales & Joe Vierra, Synapse Software. Check it out and let us know.
-
Yeah dude, I found that game for you. It is System 24, I have it. Send $1,000,000 and you can own it. Just pulling your leg mate, I have no Idea. I am honestly quite surprised i'm still even signed in here.

How about you give me the measurements of each piece you want me to measure and i'll check it. I could spend hours guessing what parts to measure. Are you looking to buy these, or sell me parts?

Howdy Aussie Arcade Anonymous group, My name is Geordie and i'm a retro-holic. I have just moved house again and i'm getting tired of lugging and storing these flat-pack Hanclone components so it's time they found a better home. For some nostalgia, the story begins here: http://www.aussiearcade.com/showthread.php/47768-20-hankin-cocktail-cabinet-projects?highlight=hankin+tables and hit a wall regarding price and I had some health issues which left the thread hanging, and subsequently died. (The thread, not me!) An attempt was made to revive the thread but it never got off the ground: http://www.aussiearcade.com/showthread.php/61507-Hankin-quot-style-quot-Cocktail-Cabinet-MDF-Flat-Packs?highlight=hankin+kit The "kits" are MDF panels cut to shape and I also have 1x steel control panel which was folded by a local sheet metal workshop, so you could use this as a template. As for the legs, I was planning on going back to the sheet metal guy so he could cut these to size and weld them into a T shape. They come with NO hardware, such as glass, clamps, hinges, legs, latches or arcade internals. The MDF cutouts COST $250 per cabinet to produce and I have a total of 5 kits. I will entertain offers of $1000 if I load the pallet and drop it at a freight warehouse or to an address in Sydney. $800 if you pick 'em up from the Blue Mountains in NSW, 1hr west of Sydney. I would prefer to sell them as one bulk lot, and if whoever buys them, has the patience to break them up, stands to make a few bucks if they desire, by either assembling them or cutting more templates to make more kits, As they are. they are raw so require painting or laminating. More goodies to come. Give me a buzz on 0422 869 464 as I do not check my PM's here too often. Regards, Geordie.

Merlin M-128 Garage Door Wireless Wall Mounted Remote
biggeorge replied to Claude's topic in For Sale - General
Can I ask a really stupid question here? You're selling the remotes, Not the roller-door mecdhanism with remote? -
I got these off another member here a year or so ago and have done nothing with them except watch the dust gather on them. I've lost interest in this project and now I have a pile of flat-packs in my sun-room. Basically untouched since Kramer delivered them from QLD to me in NSW. They are MDF cutout pieces only, IE, cloned panel shapes from a real, dis-assembled Hankin Cabinet. There is no hinges, glass, electronics, hardware. Just MDF shapes. Some guys have successfully assembled these and they look a million bucks when they're done. I have some pretty chronic spine issues so my hobby and life priorities have switched from playing and restoring games, to simply being able to get out of bed every morning and wiggle my toes. This is not just a "Bad Back" this is "Take care of this shit or your new nickname will be 'Wheels' mate." I think there are 4 complete kits there, so best offer via PM gets em. I paid $250 a pop. Remember, They are raw MDF, with no accessories. Just MDF panels, MDF coloured. Buy the lot and pick 'em up yourself & I will cut you a deal, coz my back is f&rk) so packing them and taking them to a freight depot is like asking me to deliver them to the moon. My phone number is 0422 869 464, if I can't answer the phone I WILL call you back.

A group of young Australians, Had come to tour Hong Kong. But all of them made sure their Lipton Teabags came along, and got charged $80 each at customs and quarantine to have them gamma irradiated in case there were any insects or live seeds hitch-hiking in the tea. They jiggle off, morning noon and night. And got arrested for indecent exposure. Times have changed a smidge.

Shameless plug here, but i've been using these products in ALL of my cars since 1995 when I bought my first one and I have pulled apart several of the engines from these cars, never seen a piston so rotten like the one pictured above. Pro-Ma Performance Products CLICKY LINKY I've ran unleaded in "leaded" engines with no trouble using the fuel treatments. The oil treatments do wonders for turbo engines (My current ride is a turbo diesel Hyundai iLoad chipped and juiced up with the lube additive and it leaves a few dropped jaws standing at the traffic lights) I've been selling and using these products for 17 years now and have nothing but good reports. </shameless plug> I think the main issue with the E10 is that Ethanol sucks up water like a sponge. The PT5 product in my link will atomize the water while it's still suspended in the fuel in your tank and then get burned off at harmless steam. There is also an injector lubricant and surfactant (soap) in the product so that the water doesn't rust the injectors up, or build up that gummy deposit that they add to fuel these days to stop you vaporizing it (look up vapor carbys). Let me know how it goes if you do decide to try it. There is NOTHING in the shop that works as well.

You've never owned a SAAB then mate. The silly f?ckers put the engine in back to front, the bonnet is even on back to front. The clutch is at the FRONT of the engine near the radiator, but then again, so is the gearbox, so to change a clutch you gotta take the radiator out, pull the gearbox FORWARD (bearing in mind the driveshafts are there somewhere, probably requiring the removal of the wheels and half of the front suspension and steering rack) and there is some sort of metal plate covering the flywheel with a discombobulated lever mechanism to pop the clutch, which is impossible to undo without removing both manifolds. I also had a f?cked water pump in my short-lived Saab, which happens to be at the firewall end of the deal, along with any other doohickey that runs off the serpentine / belt system. By comparison, EVERY other european vehicle is a cakewalk once you've tried working on a Saab. I ended up driving it till the engine exploded, took the plates off and cashed them in, called the first scrap car removalist I could find and told them where I left it. Now, what were you saying Mr fixit?

Drink Vending Machines - Maybe Group Buy in NSW, Western Sydney
biggeorge replied to biggeorge's topic in General Chat
I'm the silly schmuck who helped him jam 12 of them onto his ute. He owes me a box of painkillers for my back. They were so heavy the damn wheel snapped off the axle on his Toyute on the trip back to QLD. Lets hope he doesn't go into the business of pool tables that vend.. Yar On ya own there mate. As it turned out, these machines had a bunch of parts missing (a couple were gutted to being just a bare fridge), which made the entire deal a little too sour for me to go in alone as my first venture into the business, so Kramer took the risk on his own. Good luck champ. -
I just measured my 1980's Hanklone and the grill holes are 11.5mm diameter and 100mm long. They run vertically though. I put in a set of logitech speakers. Sounds awesome with the lid up and that 10" sub rattling around, but in the past I have had far better results making speaker holes than relying on the sound to find it's way through the wood, glass, etc...
-
Yes, I have one sitting here mate. It owes me $350 abd i havent touched it since i got it, so it's still a virgin and no Mame-ification.

Here ya go, this should simplify things a bit. Just show em this: You're welcome.
