  1. Done - will work on getting them to you :)
  2. No Dramas - Will send you a PM to work out how to get them to you :)
  3. I found these when doing a clean out of the inlaws shed and thought rather than throwing out I would keep and see if anybody was interested. Brissy based so happy to make the effort to get them to you if you are local otherwise if you were interstate and keen will post but you will need to cover the postage cost. Not sure if likely to be any interest but no dramas either way (will just bin) so post in thread or PM if you want them. Not sure why there was double ups of the 2 mags but as the cover of one of the #815 comics is torn that means you would be getting 4 good condition editions.
  4. OK bit of a weirder one than the retro game mags I just posted :D Figured somebody what probably be interested in these but I guess the issue would be trying to figure out who and where - guessing some older mechanical or car forum but I have no idea where to start and as I was doing those retro game mags figured I would just put these up as well just in case. If anybody can recommended somewhere else that might have somebody that would be interested fell free to recommend it and I will see how motivated I am to try and post them there.

Pretty crappy pic from my phone but its issues 1,2,3,4,6, 7, 9, 12 (and 30+ years old)
  9. @ozfalcon - Your avatar is actually another of my all time fave games. Indeed I have a folder somewhere with that imagery as at some point I wanted to get it printed onto a black Tshirt (only recently having discovered print your own shirts). I had The Sentinel on the CPC464. No idea how far I ever got but over the years I have fired it up occasionally. I always wanted to figure out the algorithm for the 10K levels (just out of curiosity I guess and to be able to pick any level number and know the level code) and in more recent times tried debugging it to figure it out but after wasting a few hours I gave up so if anybody reading this fancies figuring it out let me know :D I ending up just editing a save state to give X energy which I guess means with time I could play to 10K but yeah - its not the same as knowing how that code is calculated. My handle is of course in reference to Mike Singletons MidWinter which I had for the AtariST which I loved but the more important game for me was Lords Of Midnight!! Another game I thought was amazing (well to me as a kid anyway) and still resonates to this day and I will occasionally have a play with (wasted hours writing save game editors etc.). Yeah it does look pretty good @Brad - I tried MWO but never really got into it but in the last year I revisited MechCommander 2 (and that Omnitech remake) and that was still fun to play. Have been looking forward to seeing how this one so fingers crossed it is a good game to scratch that Mech itch.
  10. I met namastepat years ago when I offloaded some Megadrive games and he was a good example of the community in regards to willingness to help a stranger (he checked the carts still worked as I didn't have access to a working Megadrive so helped me but ultimately the person that got the working carts). I did go to one of the pinball events at Greenslopes lawn bowls club (wanted to check out the Star Wars Data East pinball which was a favourite from my youth) but I didn't really socialise nor did I even have a go on the Star Wars machine :redface I did have a friend tell me about http://pincadia.com/ the other day so checked out what they had and when I saw they also had a Star Wars Data East have made a mental note to check it out (and hopefully have a game this time). What other Brissy places should I be aware of?
  11. I finished Phantasy Star IV back in the day (and would have rated it as one of my favourite Mega Drive games) and replayed it via Emulation a few years ago. I remember making notes and hand drawing maps (not checking the internet) and reckoned I enjoyed it as much as I did the first time so reckon if you enjoyed it once you would do so again. - - - Updated - - - Ultima IV stands as one of my all time favourite games. Had a friend whose father had a clunky old laptop and they had it (think it was mono graphics) so I was introduced to it there and if I am honest I cant recall if I sourced it and completed it on PC or Atari ST but it was an awesome gaming experience. Many years later after grabbing my PC (at $3.5K which was more than I paid for my first car :o ) I remember spending $400+ to upgrade my RAM from 4mb to 8mb just to play Ultima VIII :lol Bards tale I finished on the Atari ST - main memory that has stayed with me from that game to this day was somewhere there was an encounter that was 4x99 Barbarians I think - pretty sure I had a dragon with me (and decent magic users) that could hit all groups so it was an experience goldmine!! - - - Updated - - - Hey @Brad - So do I read that you were still a MechWarrior fan? I loved the first game (used to play it when we had computer in High School) and have maintained the interest over the years in all Mech type games. Just thought I would jump in and post about the new Mechwarror game due for PC this month - http://battletechgame.com/ actually has my interest so if you didn't know about it could be worth checking out.
  12. Yeah I know - that's why I said......well meant to say "shout out" not "shot out" I didn't mean the for sale/trading when I said contribute and participate - I meant just the wider community and the willingness to help and wealth of info etc. TBH when I do lurk its very rare I bother to check the for sale/trading posts
  13. Hi Folks - Brissy based Looks like I joined/registered 2005 and probably lurked for many years prior to that. Still lurk on the odd occasion but given last year there were a couple of occasions I wouldn't have minded posting in the for sale/trading section of the site and didn't (because of forum requirements etc.) I have been meaning to get around to meeting min post limits so might as well start with an introduction post. So hi and a big shot out to all those that contribute and participate - whilst I might only lurk on the odd occasion have enjoyed the site over the years :)
  14. Hey AK - Cant comment about original hardware (I'm happy using DOSBox) but based on the two titles you cited as examples you wanted to go back and play - did you know the website http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com.au/ ? Its a good site if you didn't know about it (he explains what it is all about here: http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com.au/p/blog-page.html ). You will find a heap of entries posted around the Ultima and Wizardly titles (thus my linking to it here) as well as many others so having a look might inspire your playing these older titles or perhaps introduce some others you hadn't considered. Good luck regardless - I have always been envious of those that devote time to playing these older titles. I have done a few in the past (like Phantasy Star IV) but have failed in trying other titles like Ultima V (IV was a landmark game for me back in the day).
  15. Hey Folks, So I used to play this back in the day so it has always been one of the games I have fired up every now and again over the last X years (always a fun play for 10 or 15 mins) so thinking I knew it pretty well was quite surprised to see a fighting animation when my son was messing around playing with it before (had been streaming some stuff on the big screen so pulled out the arcade stick for a few hours of arcade gaming). Happened when he passed and it looked like both his player and opponent caught the ball at the same time. Both characters went to the ground and they both got up and had a bit of a fight before the player chr kept possession. So how normal was this in play? Like I said don't ever remember seeing it before so was surprised and thought "hey that's pretty cool - never seen that after all these years". Tried to Google it but buggered if I can find a reference to it after a quick search (info about game or play through vids). Just curious :) Cheers
  16. Hey Rich - yeah every console (from retro to current) has exclusives. From Sonic on Megadrive vs Mario on SNES right through to current IP like Halo for Microsoft and Uncharted for Sony. In terms of figuring out the specifics a quick Google of "PS4 exclusive" and "XBONE exclusive" will give you Titles etc. but for a quick list just check the Wiki entries for each system as they show if they are cross platform or exclusive etc.:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_One_games https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_4_games I think in terms of which one to go for I went for the PS4 as it appears (for now at least) the better system but I made that choice knowing that if there was something I wanted that was exclusive to the XBONE I would grab that system as that's the only way to play a game you want if it is specific to a single platform. As I said platform specific titles is a fact of life so it is what it is - one thing that does annoy me however is this new concept of timed exclusives (where it will release for console X well before console Y) or content specific exclusives (where specific game content will only be available for console X even though the game is cross platform). Pretty low IMHO but I guess not as restrictive as not making it available at all. Anyway good luck with whatever you decide :)
  17. Hey @loki4101 - great to hear it made it safe and sound over the ditch :D (also I never got any notification of your post in this thread.......) I had to send something to family in Perth the other day and it was <100grams and the damn thing was still $7.50 or whatever it is. Crazy :realmad: - got into a bit of an argument with the dude because its basically the one price to send anything < 500 grams (anything classed as a "parcel" that is). Doesn't matter if it is across the road or across the country - bloody Australia post (would have cost me heaps less to buy another item online and have it shipped from OS). On one of the days I jogged down to the post office as there is a cash converters across the road I checked them out and was actually quite surprised that there was plenty of good PS3 titles for around that $5 price point (PS2 titles around $2-3). Was surprised actually (I paid $19 for a 2nd hand copy of Ico and SOTC not that long ago) but I guess the market has moved into current gen titles so that was bound to push the prices of PS3 stuff down a bit.
  18. Like I said in that PM @loki4101 - should have saved your thanks until you actually get it :p (was sent so fingers crossed it does find it's way to you) Just had a PM about RE5 so will try and update the thread title to sold or something as that's it folks - all gone (provided I can sort RE5 of course - should happen). - - - Updated - - - Hmmmmmm - so I cant edit the title? Rules seem to suggest a mod needs to change - will PM a mod.
  19. Hey @Shock_And_Awe - just tried to send you a PM but it bounced saying you need to clear some room - basic jist was all good and I hope you enjoy the games :D
  20. I cant believe there were 4 you didn't have looking at that pic of your collection :lol What was the stuff at the very left of the pic? I'll respond to that PM and we will try to sort it out. Thanks for the swap offer as well :)
  21. So couple of people expressed interest in 4 so will try and get that sorted which just leaves Resident Evil 5
  22. Hey @Shock_And_Awe - I just listed a handful of PS3 games as freebies in that forum - have a look and PM me if you were interested in any of those (but looking at your - very organised I might add - collection in that pic above I am guessing you would have them already :lol )
  23. Hey Folks - Friend has given me a few PS3 titles as he got rid of his PS3 (the one I actually wanted was the Last Of Us but he ended up selling that whilst I was away which meant I had to buy the damn thing at $50 - one day I will get around to trying it :lol ). There were a couple of PS3 exclusives I will hang onto on the off chance I check them out at some stage however the others I have no real need for so happy to regift them - Titles as follows:- Madden NFL 10 ----- Gone Sonic Unleashed ------ Gone Batman Arkham Asylum -----Gone Dragon Age II -----Gone Edited to show above 4 have interest Resident Evil 5 -----Interest 2nd edit to say 4 gone - RE5 has now been shown some love so will via 1 PM so will try and sort that so will try and edit the thread title I'm brissy based (south side) and happy to try and get them to you etc. so if you are interested PM me - first in best dressed. I guess I could post them as well but you would have to cover postage - just having a quick look a couple of these are $20 odd at places like EB so might be worthwhile assuming postage was only a few bucks. Cheers
